Conscious Hotel Museum Square is a new type of place to stay designed with today’s independent and discerning travellers in mind. The hotel has a beautiful, cutting edge, contemporary interior but also a sustainable operation designed to be kind to the planet. The choice of how ‘green’ guests want to be is completely up to them and there’s a playful side to the hotel that shows up in little eccentric details. Please note that this is a cashless hotel and only cards are accepted.

Loved every moment of staying at the Conscious Hotel Museum Square and I would highly recommend it. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is super cool, and you can enjoy a free wine every day from 6-7 as well as a free cocktail on arrival. The location is perfect - a 5 minute walk to museum square and only 30 mins by tram and train to the airport. The room was lovely. And, most importantly, the whole hotel is eco friendly and sustainable! A must stay.

I love EVERYTHING about this hotel!
I had been sent a few recommended hotels by the company I work for, but I found this myself, and it was at least 10 times better than all the same price hotels, I was recommended in that location.
(I only paid 10 € extra myself for an upgraded room, and it was so worth it)
I asked for a different room than the one I got next to the elevator,
(because I am a very light sleeper)
And they quickly changed my room to a perfectly quiet one.( Room 205)
I loved this hotel, the decor, it's staff and the overall vibe, even down to the music played in the cafe area.
I would stay here again even if I had a bigger hotel budget.
This is beyond what you pay for.
A special thanks to the helpful staff Yisha and Sylvia.

I stayed for more than a week at this hotel. The staff members were very friendly and helped to arrange a parking space for my car in another Conscious Hotel, for which I was very grateful. I would also like to thank Yaeli who took excellent care of cleaning my room and who radiates positive energy and happy vibes.

The hotel is close to the concert hall and to the major museums in Amsterdam.

I’m a gold member in hotels.com witch makes me very experienced in staying and reviewing hotels. The conscious hotel could be the worst one I’ve ever stayed in my life! Me and my husband were in honeymoon so we booked their special suite and arrived there some time before check in time. Besides the early check in is a benefit of being a gold category, I’m not going to consider that, a very very unpleasant and rude girl from staff of the hotel said that we would be charged if we did the check in that time, so we needed to come back at 2pm. After the time she asked, we came back and, believe me, she made us to wait because the room wasn’t ready, without giving any explanation. Good to inform that we booked the WOW suite, witch was supposed to be the best one there. Actually, there was nothing “wow” at this room and at this hotel. The bathroom was flooding, the water came over all around, even to the bedroom, and when I told the girl in the front desk about the problem she just said “I know that this happens, I think it is a problem of the design of the room”, so I tried to understand and asked them at least to clean the room. Guess what? I arrived at the room some hours later and It was exactly the same situation of water everywhere. After that, the door nocked and there was the staff girl. The only thing she did was literally giving me towels to clean the room saying that “I’m sorry, the housekeeping is not here anymore”. Adding to this, the “wow room” is in the first floor facing the public garden, witch doesn't allow you to use the bathtub, unless you close everything and have a bath in the dark. Besides everything, there’s no air conditioner, no fridge and the room is really warm. Well, what I could say is: STAY AWAY! Run from the conscious hotel museum square! It is a nightmare!

My husband and I spent 4 nights at this hotel. Although the rooms might be "no frills", everything you need, including space is there, including a treat basket in the room that was complimentary. This eco friendly hotel, which is another plus, is in a great location for seeing museums, shopping, close to Vondelpark and all transit lines. There are great neighborhood restaurants within walking distance of the hotel as well. What really made this a 5 star experience was the staff at the hotel. Everyone was so nice, from our check in process, that included sparkling wine and warm banana nut bread at the front desk for us, to every morning at the wonderful breakfast buffet that had yummy home made treats by Kana and then to top it off a personal greeting from Ellie to make sure we were happy in our room and she assured us that she would take care of us and our room each day during our stay. We gave her a big hug as we left because she felt like a friend by the time we left. I can't say enough of on how nice everyone was. It makes this hotel a place we would return to anytime we come back to Amsterdam. Just what we needed after the last couple of years we all have gone through. Thank you so much for your kindness and great customer service.

This was the second time we had stayed at this hotel. The first was several years ago and it has since been renovated very successfully.
We had room 18 on the ground floor which would I think be very pleasant in warmer months as it had patio doors out to a small seating area. The room was very clean and once we found the radiator, hiding behind the curtains , it quickly warmed up.
The only slight oddity was that whilst the toilet had a door there was no door to the shower area.
We didn't have breakfast, we thought it overpriced, but it did look OK.
We appreciated the free glass of wine and cheese before going out for the evening.
The staff were very pleasant.
The reason we returned is largely down to the location . Very easy to get to and from the airport and around Amsterdam.
Glad we returned and we would use this hotel again

This is a lovely little, modern hotel with exceedingly warm and helpful staff. Its location is terrific and there are lots of thoughtful touches: complimentary snacks and drinks in the room; a complimentary glass of wine, and cheese, every afternoon between 5 and 6 in the light, bright and arty eating/drinking/working/hanging out space downstairs. Breakfast is fresh, extensive and delicious and the water pressure in the shower is strong. The best part by far though is Recha, who manages the hotel during the week. She is wonderfully generous and supremely engaging; a real asset to this establishment. We had such fun chatting to her and hearing about her experiences of Amsterdam. All round, and in large part due to Recha, we had a fantastic stay here. Would highly recommend it. Ideally book a room on the fourth floor facing the back. It's quieter and has a lovely rooftop and city skyline view.

I booked a very special trip to the Netherlands for the Easter period which included stays in 5 different locations and hotels, the last of which was a 5 night stay at the Conscious Hotel Museum Square. Due to Corona Virus my flight was cancelled and I contacted the hotel immediately to inform that I was not able to travel to the Netherlands. I was informed that they would not do a full refund but would refund 50% (total I paid was 1'000 Euro) if the situation was critical 7 days prior to the planned visit. Of course it was critical as things got worse with Covid. I contacted the hotel again, they said they had in the meantime changed their policy and decided not to rebate (as advised by their finance manager). I informed them of their previous promise but they just said that they are small, times are hard and they cannot refund. This is totally dis-honest, disgraceful and not the way to treat guests who had absolutely no way to travel. Every other hotel (even smaller than this one) gave full refunds and were very friendly and accomodating of the situation. I do not trust this hotel and will never consider booking again. I also advise to anyone else reading this to never trust or book at this hotel. I am now down by 1'000 EURO and the hotel merry keeps this amount without any expense from my visit, Do not book this hotel!

If cleanliness is not a priority for you, this hotel might be suitable. We had booked 2 nights at this place, which I would compare more to a hostel than a real hotel. Upon arrival, we first noticed urine stains on the toilet bowl. After informing the reception, we were told that this issue would be resolved upon our return from our walk in Amsterdam. Coming back, we were surprised to find that only a deodorizer had been sprayed in the toilet, but the urine stain remained. My partner had to go down again and ask for the necessary cleaning to be done. Paying a bit more attention to the room, we noticed that it simply had not been cleaned. From the bathroom to the bedroom, all the furniture was still covered with a nice layer of dust. We asked for a refund so that we could leave for another hotel or at least change rooms to enjoy our weekend properly. The manager only offered us breakfast, which we declined, simply not trusting their hygiene standards. We chose to cut our stay in Amsterdam short and lost one hotel night.

We stayed on the 4th floor - Nice clean room, fairly basic but modern and bright. A large double bed, and a single bed for our 8 year old son. No bath, but a very good shower. No fridge in the room. A safe operated with your key card, some hanging space, and one drawer.
The room is heated by a radiator so you can turn it down if it’s too hot. They let us have a spare sheet as the duvet was too thick for some of us.
All the staff were very friendly and chatty and welcoming.
The “wine hour” was a nice welcome on arrival.
We had coffee in the mornings but didn’t buy the breakfast as we wanted to try other options.
On Saturday morning there was a lovely Farmers Market in a small square behind the hotel - great fresh bread and pastries, fresh pasta, pancakes etc.
The hotel is convenient for the tram stop. If you arrive at Centraal Station just get the no 12 tram. One stop past the Museums. From the room, we could hear the trams going past but only vaguely, and it didn’t wake us up.

Hi! We don't offer laundry service inhouse, but you can bring the laundry to your host and they will let London Dry Cleaners collect it and bring it back to the hotel in 1 or 2 days.
