Conscious Hotel Museum Square is a new type of place to stay designed with today’s independent and discerning travellers in mind. The hotel has a beautiful, cutting edge, contemporary interior but also a sustainable operation designed to be kind to the planet. The choice of how ‘green’ guests want to be is completely up to them and there’s a playful side to the hotel that shows up in little eccentric details. Please note that this is a cashless hotel and only cards are accepted.

Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

Everything about this hotel works perfectly. Great location due to walking distance to tourist locations, shopping and manicured grass lawns. Inside the hotel, it’s clean, newly renovated, very modern. The staff are very pleasant, always ready to help and answer questions. The wine hour is from 6 - 7pm every evening. Great wine and cheese to go with it. Stef is a wonderful host. Pays attention, pleasant and genuinely friendly. We would stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

This hotel would be good for one night but we booked for 6 days and it is not practical at all. The location is great - right near the Museum Square. The bed is comfortable but that is the only part that works. The room does not have a closet, ,shelves , luggage rack or drawers for clothes. There is a short bar sticking out from the wall with a few hangers and a few nubs to hang your coat on. There is no mini-fridge. It is a good sized room and there is plenty of room for a closet but I think the designer was going for show (spartan ultra modern) rather than practicality.

Yay Sylvie, we like to surprise people (and usually complementary cocktails do the job quite well ;P) Thank you for letting us know you liked it so much :)

I came here for a work trip for one night and found the room to be lovely and bright, very spacious and the bed was big and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly, lots of good healthy food options for lunch, and checking in yourself is pretty easy.

Our family of 4 spent a lovely week at the Conscious Hotel Museum Square while we explored Amsterdam and a few smaller cities in the Netherlands. Our rooms on the back side of the hotel were spacious and spotlessly clean, and overlooked the garden which allowed us to leave the French door open at night to enjoy a little breeze. The eco-friendly toiletries smelled amazing — I wish I’d thought to buy some of the shampoo because I discovered I can’t get it in the US! The only minor detail I would point out is that it would really help to have a shelf in the shower. The bathrooms don’t have doors (but toilets do) so if you want 100% privacy while you shower you won’t get it, but it makes for a nice openness to the layout. All the staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The hotel is a quick walk to the Museumplein and trams while being in a beautiful residential area of the city. Be sure to walk the charming streets around the hotel that are home to cute little shops and restaurants. It’s about 20-25min by public transport to central station and maybe a little less to Amsterdam Zuid, but we felt that allowed us to see more of the city than we might have otherwise, and we liked staying in such a pretty and quiet part of the city. There’s also a big supermarket right at the Museumplein tram stop, so for an evening when you don’t feel like going out to eat, it’s easy to pick up some ready made food and enjoy eating it in the charming little garden of the hotel. We would absolutely stay at the hotel again, which we hope to do in the not too distant future!
