Perfect location very near to Dam Square/Royal Palace. Great welcome and we were able to leave our bags in the secure luggage store while we went off to explore before returning to check in later. There’s a small lift which is useful if you’ve big luggage but the stairs are manageable for most. Big room overlooking internal courtyard so views weren’t great but at least there was no noise from the street. Mini safe and fridge in the room but no tea/coffee making facilities although there is a machine in reception which is free to use 24hours. No aircon which wasn’t a problem in chilly November but there was adjustable heating, a couple of fans and large opening windows to let in fresh air if needed. Very comfy beds/pillows and a Good sized clean, modern bathroom with large walk in shower. Floors are a bit creaky due to the age of the building and the carpets were a bit worn although they were in the process of replacing them throughout when we were there. Breakfast is available at an extra cost and served on the ground floor. Be aware that like all Amsterdam hotels, there is a 12.5% tourist tax levy payable.

This hotel is a little Gem! Perfect for visiting the city centre, hotel is 5/10mins walk from all the clothes/shops, 15 minute walk to red light district with more bars and cafes. Lobby area is modern with vending machine with snacks (you have to pay for) but they provide FREE tea and coffee as this isn’t available in bedroom. We was on third floor room 306, there was a small lift that fitted only 3 people, i have a phobia of lifts so used the stairs, the hotel is like a maze and some of the stairs are steep some of the floor along the corridor is uneven so be careful when walking as i nearly tripped a few times, but i guess its an old building so its to be expected. Our room was huge, two beds put together to make a large double bed and one single bed in room, fridge, safe and hair dryer in room. Bathroom was spacious, clean towels, spa collection hand soap by hand basin and hair and body in shower. Room was hot and stuffy but windows open wide and we had fan in our room. Beds are very comfortable, both me and my partner slept very well. We didn't have breakfast as we ate out. Would recommend staying here if your visiting Amsterdam, The staff are very friendly here and nothing was a trouble at all if you needed anything. We will be back and stay here for our next trip to Amsterdam, thank you to all the staff x

Nice little hotel in the centre which didn't break the bank. The room was quite basic but had pretty much everything needed. We were in an attic room with sloping ceilings. The large mirror was on the only full height with no electric socket near it. The hotel team brought us an extension lead without any fuss. No kettle in the room but they have a free tea/coffee machine in the foyer, available 24/7. We checked out at 11am but our flight wasn't until the evening. The staff stored our luggage in a locked room until we were ready to collect it. Everyone, from housekeeping to reception, were friendly and helpful. There really wasn't anything to fault.

Hotel in a great central location but below all expectations except breakfast. Beginning of stay assigned room not chosen by me then replaced following complaint. Clearly they don't accompany you get off you get new room keys you move and return old keys. All without assistance. Inside the room during the stay lacked shower foam and toilet paper. The first request compensated the second liquidated with a small bar of soap because until the next day nothing could be done. The room was not as clean as it should be. reception: staff below quality except for a few guys who had to be lucky enough to find. Clearly we only speak English

Pros: Location was great, 5min walk to supermarket, 15mins walk to central Dam Square, luggage room provided, free water, toilets and coffee machine at reception for use anytime and free wifi throughout. Cons: Bed was too soft, floors were creaky was woken up at various times by people walking above us middle of the night, thin walls, carpet in the halls were dirty and desperately needed a refit, towels were often stained with fake tan (i hope!!) and breakfast was poor. Only hot food was boiled eggs or scrambled eggs, the rest was repetitive cold cuts, pastries, yoghurt and cereals. Could do much better for the prices they charge. Will not be back.

Recently stayed at a hotel in the city center of Amsterdam and it was a complete disaster. While the location was convenient, the rest of the experience was far from enjoyable.
To start, the floor was not clean and when I entered my room, there were wet patches on the carpet. The fridge made a constant noise and the walls were so thin that I could easily hear conversations from my neighbors. The bedsheets had a bad smell and did not seem clean.
In addition, the hotel required me to leave my room key at the reception desk whenever I left the hotel, citing safety reasons. However, the room keys are actually cards and it was hard to understand how leaving them at the desk could possibly enhance safety. There have also been reports from other guests that their belongings went missing during their stay, see old reviews.
When I arrived at the hotel at 1pm to drop off my luggage, I was told that I would have to wait until 2pm to check in. I returned at 3:40pm and was told that my room was not yet ready and that I would have to wait another 25 minutes. The hotel offered me a free breakfast as compensation, but after everything that had happened, I had no desire to eat there.
Furthermore, the overall condition of the hotel was poor and did not live up to the standards of a 3-star hotel. I could have found a similar level of accommodation for a lower price or spent a little more to stay at a globally recognized hotel chain with included breakfast.
To top it all off, when I checked in, the receptionist insisted that I pay an extra city tax, despite the fact that I had already paid for my stay in advance through a well-known travel website. When I showed her the price summary that included the tax, she claimed that I had not paid and it was unclear what had happened between the hotel's booking system and the website.
In conclusion, I would highly suggest avoiding this hotel. The reception service was unprofessional and the environment was dirty and noisy. It was not worth the time or energy to stay there.

In spite of an uninspiring frontage, the inside of the hotel is very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a room on the ground floor which was clean and comfortable with everything you need including a full size fridge. Room was cleaned every day. The only query was the age of the carpet. The hotel is well placed to visit all the main attractions in central Amsterdam which we walked to including walking from the Eurostar terminal at Central Station. Hotel is recommended for somewhere to use as a base while in Amsterdam.

Dear Kingfisher, thank you for your review and it is good to see you have appreciated our hotel. The frontage of our hotel is that of 5 seperate canal houses when our street was still a canal 2 centuries ago. You are absolutely right about the carpet. It is deep cleaned on a regular basis but needs replacement and that is what is planned for the coming winter. By next time you visit our hotel this should be solved.

The hotel is in a great location in the center of Amsterdam and is therefore very easy to reach on foot. The reception is very friendly and competent. The breakfast buffet is very generously stocked with many things. The breakfast room is very nice. There is coffee and tea available 24 hours a day. The room is rather small but beautifully furnished. Therefore the bathroom (shower, toilet, etc.) is also quite small for 2 people. The room service didn't work so well. But we were very satisfied with our stay.

We had a front room over looking the street which is lovely with the tram going past . The room was huge woth 3 beds in , fridge. The betahroom as a shower in which was lively & hot . Rooms are spotless and beds so comfy There is continental breakfast available daily, we didn't Try this so can't comment but we did enjoy the free hot drinks machine which was avaliable to use 24hrs a day 😉 I'd defo book again which I think next time I may take the hubby lol , would defo recommend to others we had a fantastic stay thankyou xx

Our "standard room" included a queen size bed, decent size room (meaning we both could walk around without bumping into each other), a safe, hot water pot for tea, a mini frig, regular phone to be able to call the front desk, soap and shampoo in the bathroom. No A/C. We were very comfortable as a couple.
Thank you for your question. All of our rooms have shower, toilet so you will have more time to go into town.
Hope to see you soon!
