Very nice, clean hotel in a central location. It's about a 10 minute walk from central station and close to many restaurants, bars and attractions. The rooms were spacious and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Pros: walk out of hotel and minutes to main square and Red Light, not many nice hotels in this area, open lobby with cool bar and restaurant, coffee service machine, rooms are clean modern and functional Cons: rooms a little dated, hotel is split into 2 with street separating. Ask to be in main building, high floor with exterior window...

Radisson blu has a great advantage in terms of location. It is right in the edge of Famous Red Light district and a 2 minute walk from the dam square. The restaurant has a great area for breakfast, with the chef and Staff willing to go out of their way to help and prepare heart warming sumptuous breakfast. The hotel...

Quick visit to Amsterdam for 1 night. Everything i needed from them they were able to do for me. They couldn't be any more helpful also its in a good location for the coffee shops and restaurants would come here again. Its a high price at nearly 200 pounds including breakfast but its well worth it

A very nice, clean and fresh hotel with very friendly and supportive staff. Within walking distance of most tourist spots in central Amsterdam. Nice comfortable beds, modern styled rooms. Last time I was staying there, my checked in bag did not make the flight but after a visit in the reception I soon had a complimentary set of tooth brush...

We stayed here for New Years and the location is ideal. It's walking distance from all the big landmarks. It is approximately 10-15minute walk from Grand Central station. The hotel is located opposite Rusland Coffee Shop and a mini-supermarket, great to have these on your doorstep! The room was average and very over-priced for what it offered. I would definitely...

We stayed at the Radisson Blu for three nights. It was clean and spacious. Our option included breakfast and the food was really good. The concierge service is very good and staff very helpful. The best part of the hotel was it's location as it was within walking distance of many of the major museums and shopping areas. If there...

The lobby is beautiful (Hint: Look Up). We were upgraded to a Captains Room, and we were very happy with our room. The staff was super friendly. We were there for Christmas Day, so most everything was closed, but the staff made good recommendations to us as to what to do.

Recently visited Amsterdam with my work mates and we stayed at the Blu Radisson. The staff are friendly the positioning of the hotel is very good. Close to all the action but far enough away not to be disturbed. The rooms were nice and cleaned daily and in fact the only thing that let it down was ordering drinks in...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
