This was our second time at The Banks Mansion. We stayed there in 2017, and we were impressed. Very impressed. We love Amsterdam, but we love The Banks more. From the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in (besides my own), to the Living Room open bar, to the best hotel breakfast I have ever had...the Banks just does it for us. So when we were headed back to Europe this summer to take a cruise, we specifically flew into Amsterdam and spent two days at the Banks before flying to our final destination. Yes, we really did fly into Amsterdam just to stay there and relieve our jet lag before flying to Athens. And we would do it again. They are that good. Best customer service ever and totally all inclusive.
We spent three nights at Banks Mansion. First of all the location is amazing 🤩 We saw so much more staying here and it’s so pretty right on the canal! It was lovely to open the curtains and windows every morning to such a pretty view! THE most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Also, they have bikes to hire at the hotel, which is a must thing to do, just make sure you book them as soon as you can to avoid missing out. The hotel left surprises in both ours and our friends rooms to help celebrate my birthday and their engagement, which was such a nice touch! The hotels full service concept meant we could relax and celebrate without worrying about over spending. They have premium brands and it’s self service, so it felt like we were in our home, especially in the comfortable lounge area they’ve created, it’s so clever! The minibar and treats in your room are also included and the decor is so cool, it’s one of the quirkiest places we’ve stayed. Breakfast was delish! Lots of self serve options, hot and cold, and a chef preparing made to order dishes! Real freshly squeezed orange juice (not watered down like most places) and a huge selection of hot drinks available all through the day in the lounge area to, not just at breakfast! We are already missing the daily cheese board and finding out what different treats they have every day! Oh and make sure you book direct! We were presented with such a lovely gift when we arrived for doing this! …
A great hotel in a fantastic location with so much on offer! We loved our 4 nights here with bonuses of free bar, great breakfast (they cook eggs all ways to order) and comfy beds. So easy to get around with a tram stop at the front door that takes you to Amsterdam Centraal. Only one minor thing - the hairdryer is poorly designed but other than that a most comfortable and excellent hotel.
We enjoyed our stay here. The service was top notch! Perfect location! Comfy beds and very comfy pillows. The open bar in the lobby created conversations with other guests which was fun. Breakfast was amazing. Sandra, the woman with the beautiful smile will cook your breakfast in front of you. She is absolutely lovely! The tram stops near the hotel, makes it very convenient. If I return to Amsterdam this is where I will stay. Thank you to the entire team!
OK - this is the only hotel you should stay at while in Amsterdam! The rooms were gorgeous, spacious and well appointed. The staff was amazing, so helpful with our questions and taking care of taxis when needed. The breakfast each morning was so fabulous...a full breakfast, homemade omelets...just perfect! But our favorite part was the open concept cocktail bar! What a unique idea...why didn't someone think of this earlier! It was so nice to make your own drink - exactly how you like it - and relax each evening and meet other guests. Or, just hang out with your hubby and enjoy cocktail hour! The hotel is right in the middle of everything, we enjoyed walking the streets of Amsterdam and dodging the bicycles! Our first time in Amsterdam, but definitely not out last. And, of course, we will be staying at the Banks Mansion...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!…
We looked at many Amsterdam hotel options - and after staying here, 100% satisfied. It is a smaller boutique hotel - but had everything we needed. Location was excellent, service, facilities, lounge with drinks, and a very good breakfast provided in basement. We stayed 3 nights, really enjoyed all aspects - especially the location and boutique feel and ambience, let alone service and customer focus. We felt also price/value was very good for Amsterdam.
Highly recommend this wonderful hotel. The location is perfect with many restaurants and small shops within a few minute walk. Several tram lines stop in front of the hotel. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Everything is free, e.g., breakfast, cocktails, wines, beer in the lobby, Wi-Fi, etc. the breakfast is very good with a nice lady making eggs, pancakes, French toast to order. It is on a Main Street with some noise but not too bad. We stayed in a back room which was very quiet
Upon arrival, Elmo, the front desk, was pleasant and helpful. Our room, electically decorated, was a bit small, but clean. Wonderful canal view. To escape in the afternoon to "the lounge" in the lobby proved futile for quite space. The lobby feels dated, the furniture showing its age and things a little dusty. Breakfast in "the Kitchen" is in the basement and the room feels like a cafeteria, though the breakfast was good. Mornings in the Lounge can be greeted with housekeepers, vacuum cleaning and noisy guests checking in. Overall, the staff was pleasant, but not over-attentive. Bottom line: if you are used to four or five star hotels, this may not be the right hotel.
We loved everything about The Banks Mansion! From the moment we were greeted to the time we departed they were warm and helpful. We loved the all inclusive atmosphere where people gathered in the evening for cocktails or a glass of wine or beer and to enjoy the cheese and meat tray they provided. The rooms were cleverly decorated. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve ever had in all of Europe! Thanks to everyone at the Banks Mansion for a wonderful time we can’t wait to return!
From the open bar to the wine and cheese, this is located centrally to everything. We walked to everything we wanted to do. Excellent breakfast in the morning to start your day. The room was spacious and comfortable. Next time I’m in Amsterdam, this is where I will stay.
