Me and 4 friends stayed here for a holiday for 3 nights and the hotel was great. The rooms were nice and clean and housekeeping came in everyday. The receptionists are brilliant and even went along with the prank calls we received from our friends via the receptionist himself! Can't fault this place

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in November 2016. First impression was not that great as it looks like a block of hostel from outside. The lobby and rooms are good. I was in a room where I had requested a double bed and I was given 2 single beds put next to each other. Th hotel has its...

3 night stay, rooms are clean, adequate shower although toilet felt like it was in a cupboard. Friendly staff, located a good 30-45 min walk from dam square on the east side. Only issue we had was we had booked a wake up call for 0415 and a taxi at 5am, for return flight, woke up earlier and informed the...

As mentioned in previous reviews, this hotel is not in the heart of the tourist area, however trams and bus stops are right outside. The setting is gorgeous, between the impressive looking Tropen Museum and the very pretty Oosterpark. Our room was spacious, clean, had a separate toilet (not in the bathroom), kettle and tea/coffee, safe (although it had a...

Dear Snapcooeee, Thank you for your kind words. I am happy that you enjoyed the area, Amsterdam Oost has so much to offer. I hope you mentioned the flat battery to our reception staff at check out, so we can replace it. We look forward to see you again in the future. Kind regards, Elvira N.

Tropen is a good solution if you want to be far from the hustle and bustle and yet close to major city attractions. The hotel has recently been renovated and offers modern rooms with big windows and a nice view over the park or city (if you stay in upper floors). The breakfast is very good for a 3 star...

My friends and I liked this hotel. The staff were very friendly and the rooms clean. My bed was very comfortable. There is a safe in the room. The hotel is easily accessible from the central station using the No 9 tram and isn't too far out at all. Breakfast is good although expensive €15, that said it is comparable...

I chose the Tropen because it wasn't too expensive, though not right in the centre. It was great - well connected, clean and comfortable. There's a lovely park just beside the hotel, good places to eat right across the road and a tram stop to the main station. Highly recommended.

This hotel is right next to the Tropenmuseum and a little park where you can chill and have a picnic. We went on a last-minute trip to Amsterdam and were lucky enough to get a free upgrade on our room. The hotel is a little bit out of the way of central Amsterdam, but the trams are quick and reliable...

Having spent a whole Sunday afternoon trawling through hotels & their reviews in Amsterdam, we settled for the Tropen Hotel for a three night stay. The search was worth it but hopefully this review will save other travellers the time. Our room was on the second floor and it felt like we were suspended in the trees of the adjacent...
