My son and I spent 4 nights at the New West Inn. It was extremely easy to get to from the airport following the instructions on the hotel website and only cost 3 Euro each instead of the 55 Euro by taxi. On arriving at the hotel i was vey surprised as the outside of the building looked like an old run down soviet era building but on going through the entrance i was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very clean and modern and had extremely pleasant and friendly staff. Our room was large , clean , warm, good WIFI and extremely comfortable beds. The hotel is an an extremely quiet residential are so there was no traffic or aviation noise (despite being close to the airport). We tried the breakfast two days but it was not great for us, the hot section was limited to scrambled eggs, beans and a strange bacon, there were only two cereals and no fruit that we noticed. This is a personal point as many other seemed delighted with it with huge plates of continental breakfast of Croissants etc.
Only other point of note for travellers is the distance to the city centre which with the walk , waiting for a tram and then the tram is nearly an hours journey, but its a good location for peace and economy.
Thanks again to the great staff. I would definitely stay in the New West Inn again. Cheers Neil.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Amsterdam. It is 35 minutes ride via tram 17 from the central station, but you might have to wait it for about 10 minutes, and there is a 15 minutes walk from tram stop to hotel, so you are looking for about 1 hour to get from hotel to city center. It is a residential area, and there is nothing interesting nearby though you can eat at a very decent Sahan restaurant. On the other hand we saw rabbits and geese near the hotel :-) The room and bathroom were really large, there were beds, a chair, and armchair, a desk, a small round table, a dresser, a closet. The breakfast cost 14.50 euro. and it was excellent. There were hot items (scrambled eggs, fried bacon, kidney beans), cheese, sausages, fruits, pastries, different type of bread, juices, etc. The room and bathroom were clean but the cleaning team cold do better (I accidently dropped a cotton ball on the shower floor and found it on the next day on the same place). Unfortunately there was no tea/coffee in the room. You can buy tea at the reception but it would cost 2 euro. There was no refrigerator in the room. The staff is nice and helping customers providing maps etc. The hotel located about 15-20 minutes from the airport which is also convenient for visiting Keukenhof gardens.

Hotel did what we wanted without any thrills. Easy base away from the inner hustle of the city with simple transport routes in. Staff were very helpful for use to access an early check in having a 4 month baby and the rooms were comparable to a premier inn.

Dear Jack W, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at New West Inn. It is heartening to learn that our location and transportation access met your expectations. I'm equally pleased that our team was able to accommodate an early check-in and provide the support you needed with your 4-month-old baby. We always aim to maintain a standard comparable to leading industry peers and your feedback is greatly appreciated. While we are glad that we met your needs, we continually strive to exceed our guests' expectations and add a little more 'thrill' to their stay. We hope to welcome you and your family back in the not too distant future. Best regards, Sophie Delorance New West Inn

Staff were so rude an ignorant. They all need a class in manners. Paid ten euro deposit for a plug which we were told we could have back when we handed the plug in they refused to give us are deposit back. Rooms were cleaned everyday but sheets not changed so basically we were in the same sheets for five days. Left the hotel a day earlier as the staff were so ignorant place should be shut down an new employees put in. Would like to know the mans name who refused to give me my deposit for the plug. His attitude was appalling spoke to me like a i was a piece of dirt on his shoe. Only good thing was the bed was comfy. Do not pay for a deluxe room coz they just throw you in any room. They claimed the room I was in was a duluxe it really wasn’t. Even the pictures on the website says the room I stayed in was just a standard but I payed for a duluxe. Fumin isn’t the word

Just arrived back from a 2 night stay here. The staff couldnt have been any friendlier and were very polite. We were able to go to the hotel hours before check in and leave our luggage in a locked room so that we could go into the city centre while we waited for check in. Tram stop is about 10-15 minute walk but we are little people, with little legs who weren't in a hurry so you could do it quicker than us. Trams were really easy to use and google maps was a god send. We bought a 3 day tram/bus pass for €28 at the airport and it was well used. The bus/tram pass takes you from the airport to the hotel or you can get a taxi outside for €41. Theres loads of little shops around the corner and also an Aldi aswell. The rooms were nice, basic and most importantly clean, we stayed in 516 and it looked exactly like photos we saw online. Just what you need when you dont intend on spending much time in your room. We did have a little problem with our safe as we either couldnt remember the code or the code wouldn't work but after a 2 sec phone call, a man was at the door and had our passports out in no time! We are already planning our next visit and will definately be staying here. Thanks for a lovely couple of days!

I was advised to choose this hotel from my cousin who was previously in Amsterdam and i didnt regret it. It is a little far from the strict center but we didnt mind it since we rented bicycles so few kilometers of distance was something we didnt mind. Prices are reasonable in comparison to other parts of amsterdam which were way out of our per-night budget. For someone who is not looking for too fancy sleep and needs a clean place to rest, sleep and shower I would highly recommend.

We stayed as a family of 3 for a total of 4 nights, we have visited previously and never had an issue, this time around was absolutely awful. Our bathroom absolutely stunk of sewage, to the point that we avoided using it as much as possible, even walking out to use public restrooms was the better option. On 2 nights our sons water wasnt replaced as promised. Not only was our stay uncomfortable due to the awful smell lingering through, we were made to make our own bed as our bedding was left by the maids in a pile thrown onto the bed, the bedding was always the same bedding throughout the entire stay, and the room was never hoovered or cleared properly as it was when we previously stayed in 2019. This hotel has gone down hill and we will definately Not be returning.

We spent 7 nights at this hotel and I can honestly say it was clean, tidy and the staff were great.
We had breakfast every morning and it was varied and tasty. My husband bemoaned the lack of sausages for breakfast but he enjoyed the bacon and eggs.
When we arrived our room on floor 6 was very noisy from the ventilation system but we were quickly moved to floor 5 which had more traffic and plane noise but we didn't mind that as it was very quiet overnight.
It was a stones throw from some amazing restaurants which we frequented and the pizzas on offer in the hotel were delicious.
The tram number 17 was also close by and very frequent and whizzed you off to wherever you wanted to go. You could purchase up to a 4 day unlimited tram, bus and metro pass from the reception.
We had a splendid time and would recommend the hotel wholeheartedly.
Thank you for making our Amsterdam trip so pleasant.

Dear LadyfromChurwell, Thank you for taking the time to post such a detailed and thoughtful review of your stay at the New West Inn. We are absolutely thrilled that your Amsterdam trip was made pleasurable due to our services, and that you appreciated the cleanliness, staff friendliness, and our tasty breakfast variety. Your feedback regarding the sausage in our breakfast offering has been noted, and we will look into this aspect. Also, we appreciate your understanding regarding the noise disturbances; our main goal is to create a comfortable environment for our guests and are pleased that this was largely achieved. Thank you once again for your high recommendation and we hope to serve you again in the future. And yes, we do take pride in our delicious pizzas! Best Regards, Sophie Delorance

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! I booked to stay here for a weekend. I could not attend my booking, I called and emailed to cancel my booking and they did not respond or answer the phone until the day after i was due to arrive. They then emailed me to say they wouldn't give me even a partial refund. I asked could we change the dates for an additional fee. They then stopped responding to my email. When i rang them i spoke to an extremely rude receptionist who continued to speak over me, patronize and laugh down the phone at my situation. They told me it was nothing to do with them and then attempted to charge me a further €40 for my late cancellation.

I think I had a basic triple room and it was that, basic. We had no Air conditioning and it was boiling (however it was summer when I stayed there). The beds were really comfortable. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels left neatly folded on the bed each day. The staff were super friendly providing a warm and friendly welcome. They were super helpful too. There isn't much in the area to do and there are limited food placs within a 10 minute walk. The local bus stop and tram were only about a 10 minute walk away. You can use the tram to take you straight to central station. If you walk 5 mintues in the opposite direction from the tram there is a bus direct to the airport. They don't stop outside the hotel, but they are easy enough to get to on foot. I think the tram takes 30 mntues to get into the center of amsterdam. I would allow a good 50 minutes of travel, from stepping foot out of the hotel, to get to amsterdam central. The hotel provides parking, which you have to pay for. There are bikes available for hire. I didn't have breakfast there so can't comment on this. They have snack machines and drink machines but not all of the machines accepted card at the time of my visit. I Can't complain for the price point. Saying this, then room did feel dated. But everywhere was clean and fresh. I would recommend for a budget stay. The hotel also allows you to purchase a travel card if you need one during your visit. Just makes getting around easier.
