An ideal location for visiting Amsterdam. Next to the Rijksmuseum and the Rembrandt museum, a short walk from the iconic canals of the inner city and overlooking an outer defence canal. Good parking also. This a well run, welcoming, clean hotel with comfortable beds and a minimalist trendy lobby.

My husband and I stayed in a double room at Park Hotel in December 2011. What a lovely place to stay in Amsterdam! While it's not cheap, you certainly get what you pay for. As soon as you arrive you at the hotel are greeted by a delightfully inviting smell. Anytime during the day or night you entered the lobby... More

The exterior of the hotel blends in well with the surrounding building with a vintage (but less that promising) look, the entrance to the hotel looks more like a shop front with a scooter in the entrance and artsy mannequins. The interior feels more like the website promises, with an inviting fire and relaxing lunge packed with couches, books, and... More

We had 3 nights here at found the hotel to be really well run, with nice (large) rooms and helpful staff. The location is excellent, near museums, canal cruises and bike rentals, with an easy walk to other points of interest. Great buffet breakfast too.

Stayed for two nights as we went to amsterdam to go to a gig at the Paradiso -a 2 minute walk. Check in was smooth -- the room was lovely, at the front with views across to the Hard Rock cafe and beyond. Beiing at the front there was a little bit of tram noise but we don't mind that.... More

This is the second time we have stopped here and they obviously read the reviews because the rooms were further improved from last year by double glazing the windows. The tram noise could be clearly heard last year but this year the lack of noise made us enjoy the really comfy beds even more. Plenty of full sized mirrors, a... More

The lobby of the hotel is very cosy with a fireplace and a good collection of books a tired traveller may be interested to run through when taking a cup of hot tea or smth else. The room is rather an unexpected disappointment for the price, humid and cold despite of the AC working all night at +27. Breakfast is... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
