Beautiful hotel. Very clean. Staff very friendly. Rooms are perfect size - we stayed in the comfort room and was surprised by the size! In a good way. Would highly recommend this hotel for location, cleanliness and staff alone. Very happy guest :)
We found the staff at this hotel to be so professional and helpful. They answered our questions with smiles, and they even stored a bag for us for several days. (We left the city and had booked a room for our return.) The small refrigerator was quite convenient, as were the international electrical outlets (pictured). The location can't be beat, with a tram stop right out front, and a bakery, convenience store, and restaurants nearby.
The hotel is really clean …….but the rooms are very small ,………everything is near you 2 min from dam square……….. and 8 min to the Amestrdam central station The staff is really helpful 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Definitely will try it again👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Staff were extra helpful with getting a room early, booking a taxi, and then helping me locate a phone lost in said taxi and shipping the phone back to me. The hotel was cute, clean and centrally located to our planned activities with a spacious room. The perfect place to lay your head while in Amsterdam.
Very uncomfortable tiny small rooms with bad insulation that seeps in noises from other rooms. You have the location where everything that is of interest is in walking distance. I found the manager on duty very friendly.
Lovely hotel right in the centre so is perfect for a city break Hotel was very clean and really wonderful staff, we ate in the restaurant which was great, would recommend The rooms aren’t huge, however our room was so comfy, we had a coffee machine, everything was very clean Would definitely recommend this hotel for a city break
This hotel claims to be a 4 Star... it is a 1 star at best. The images of the rooms are very deceiving. We paid for a King Comfort room. First of all the word Comfort in Europe means micro/mini and not comfort as we all know it to mean. We checked in and the room is a micro-sized room, paid for a king bed but we got 2 small singles pushed next to each other. For a couple celebrating their wedding anniversary 2 single beds just slide apart. There was barely any room to walk around the bed let alone to place your luggage. Then the bathroom, to sit on the toilet you need to snake your body to squeeze into a tiny space around the massive toilet paper dispenser at shoulder height to be able to sit on the toilet. Very difficult to wipe yourself. The shower has just enough room to stand and get wet, do not think of bending over or lifting your legs to wash your feet. We have never seen a room like this. After complaining with Front desk we were told we would receive the king bed we paid for the next day. Come the next day we are given a double bed (they said was a Queen but it was a double bed), The bed was hard as a rock, just as comfortable as sleeping on the floor. This hotel is an insult to adult travelers. We do NOT recommend Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw to anyone.…
We visited the restaurant yesterday for the first time. Which was a bit silly since we have been living in Amsterdam for over 20 years now. But I must say we both loved it. The staff were super friendly and the food was good. We something for everyone. Next time I'm in the centre of Amsterdam.I will drop by for a drink or a bite.
We stayed here 11.06.2022-13.06.2022. The location could not be any better. It's really central, with a Tram stop literally right outside of the Hotel doors! The staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. The room itself was clean and tidy. The rooms are small and basic, which I don't mind at all. What I did find rather odd, is that there are no drawers in the room. There's a desk and a narrow wardrobe, but nowhere to store underwear/ socks/ make up/ anything else that would normally go in drawers. It meant we had to 'live' out of our suitcases for the days we were there. It's not an issue for us, but I image if you stayed here for nearer to a week, that would get annoying fast. The shower is extremely narrow, it made it really difficult to wash my hair. Again, there were no shelves in the shower to store toiletries on. Our door had quite a large gap underneath it, which meant it was quite noisy around breakfast/ check-out times. I'd still recommend staying here for the lovely atmosphere, lovely staff and great location, but bear in mind a lot of the rooms are 'pokey.' I'd likely try and upgrade our room size if we were to stay here again. It would be great if the hotel management could install drawers in the rooms, and shelves in the showers somehow!…
Rooms very small no drawers so couldn’t unpack properly if you like showering in a caravan size bathroom you’ll be happy. No shower tray so had to roll up the shower mat to avoid flooding the bathroom. Bathroom door couldn’t open fully without hitting the bed Daily cleaning not good ring from electrical toothbrush never cleaned away for 3 days
