A luxury experience with a friendly helpful staff from the moment we arrived. Great choice at breakfast served until 12 noon at weekends. Ismail on concierge was amazingly helpful, great recommendations for walks, restaurants etc. His recommendations all worked out really well. A very big room and really quiet for sleeping on the second floor was very welcome after hours... More

Hotel is located c5 minutes walk from Amsterdam Central Station (takes about 20 mins from Schipol and costs 5 euro). Check in was quick and we were allowed into our room at midday - handy when having luggage etc. room typical Marriott / Renaissance layout, functional with comfy bed. Only downside to room was air conditioning was noisy especially during... More

Excellent hotel, 5 minutes from Central Station, in walking distance to all the sites of Amsterdam. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived approx 4 hours before check in time but were given our room keys there and then. The room keys are also used to operate the elevators to the upper floors, an excellent security feature. The... More

We stayed here on a layover, and loved it. The location is great, very central for seeing the sights. We were very jet lagged, and the hotel allowed us to do an early check in and a late check out. It was perfect for catching up on sleep, as the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was great... More

The hotel is a five minute walk to the central train station, and it is an easy walk to most other places in Amsterdam. There are plenty of great restaurants in the immediate area. The staff is super, couldn't be more helpful. A standard room is small and without a bath. The shower was fine, but leaked out the glass... More

We stayed at the hotel in January 2013. The hotel has a great location 10 minutes away from the Central Station. Staff are very nice and helpful. Rooms are clean although somewhat small. The executive lounge was spacious, but the food selection during the day time is limited. We enjoyed the breakfast. The only thing that we did not like... More

Stayed here for 2 nights recently. The hotel is across the road from central station, about 5 minutes walk. It is an american chain and this is apparent throughout the hotel. Our double room was spacious, the queen bed was so comfortable. In room safe provided, also tea making facilities. However they had forgotten to leave out some milk on... More

Location: Conveniently located close to Central Station, The Red Light District, supermarket (Albert Heijn), restaurants, coffee shops, sureface line, Dam Square, etc. etc. Staff: AMAZING!! Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
