This small hotel is located right on the red light district and 5 min walk from central station. Although small, rooms are decent size and pretty modern looking, I would totally recommend and would definitely be back.

Loved this hotel it was 5 min walk from central station and close to the buzz of Amsterdam. It was very clean and we even had a free mini bar, the lounge bar was great for cocktails and pre drinks . When we arrived our room wasn't ready as we had a very early flight but this was not a... More

Stayed here during a recent weekend trip to Amsterdam, during Museum Night weekend. Great location. Easily accessible via foot from Centraal Station, even with luggage. Service is great. Folks are friendly. Food in the concierge lounge was perfection - especially the bitterballen. Clean, modern rooms. Fresh fruit for grabs at the checkin counter. Great stay!

The location is very closed to the Amsterdam Centraal about 5 minutes walk. About 1 minute walk to the left of the hotel, the Nieuwezijds Kolk tram stop is located. Therefore, it is very convenience to go everywhere by staying here. To go to the tourist attractions, you can take a tram, bus, or walk from this hotel. I heard... More

I stayed there 4 days. I arrived on a flight from US at 930 am and my room was ready! I was so pleased. The first room was on the 5th floor and pretty small. I went down stairs to inquire about an upgrade due to my Marriot Gold status and was given very quickly room 236. The room was... More

Stayed in the Amsterdam Renaissance Hotel for two nights on a business trip. As expected from a Renaissance Hotel the rooms were nice, bed was comfortable and the staff professional and friendly. The choice and quality of food at breakfast and dinner was quite good. Some other hotels (esp. In the US) could do same best practice sharing and learn... More

My review will mirror others, great location, great service, nice size rooms. This hotel took the place of my previous usual stay spot, primarily due to its location. Definitely will be spending a lot of time here in the future.

A good quality Marriott property in a very good location. Just 5 mins walk to the central square. Nice rooms, great beds and clean and modern property. Would recommend this hotel. Parking is extortionate at 50 euros a day, so don't bring a car.

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
