Kimpton de Witt was absolutely a great choice. Was so close to Amsterdam Centraal station. Took the train from the airport to Centraal station and walked less than 10 minutes with our luggage to our hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our room had plenty of space. Has the amenities to make your stay comfortable such as a mini fridge and in room coffee maker although I stopped in the lobby to get the complimentary coffee in the morning before I headed to the gym. All Kimptons have a “social hour” and this one did not disappoint. Hotel is close to so much. Right outside their main restaurant is a lively area of shoppes and eateries. Amsterdam was so easy to navigate. We got a train pass that made traveling convenient. But walking to many places was also easy. If we ever visit Amsterdam again, we will certainly stay here again. …

The room was extremely dark with very little lighting, and very little natural light. There were only two very small chairs in the room, neither with armrests. The bathroom was poorly designed. The hotel seemed to be designed to be very trendy, but not very practical. One didn’t put a sign out, saying clean the room, instead, the sign said “let us make your room sparkly“ too cute for words as far as I’m concerned.

The Kimptom De Witt is a nice hotel with clean comfortable rooms within walking distance of many restaurants, Amsterdam highlights, and transportation. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again on my next trip to Amsterdam.

This is a very nice hotel with a great downtown location. However it is very expensive for a very small room. We expected more. Also, the hotel restaurant has a very limited menu, especially for Americans. And, both the food and drinks are very expensive. However, if you want to stay here for the location, there are many other restaurants in the area where you can obtain both drinks and food at more reasonable prices.

Booked as central, have stayed in Kimptons before. On arrival at front of entrance we had a building site, no one at door to assist with luggage. At check in staff doing their best but area tight and badly laid out. The room was tiny, the view from a window a wall mentioned this to staff, they said this Amsterdam, the Pullitzer has views. The bathroom was also small, air conditioning system quaint, a general lack of light in the room. Cleanliness good, but a lack of nice touches Seem to be overloaded with travel groups, individuals secondary, concierge slow, slow, slow. Breakfast not cheap but good choice, freshly squeezed orange juice, helpful staff. Social hour, what can one say. We asked to keep our room till 13:00 as IHG member no chance, no acknowledgement, overall the equivalent of an average Crown Plaza. Again when leaving requested a taxi but no assistance offered with luggage which they had in store. Probably like Amsterdam taking tourists for granted …

This hotel is incredible! I cannot fault a single part of it. Firstly it is a stones throw away from Central Station so it is super easy to get from the airport to the property. It is then in walking distance of all major attractions and sights in DAM square and all the things we had booked. The room was ready for us to check in at 11am when we arrived so that made our entire first day run smoothly by being able to check in at this time. The complementary umbrellas and bikes are such an incredible service especially at this time of year when the weather can be temperamental. The tea, coffee and water station is also great especially after a long day of walking around Amsterdam The room was perfect in size, the bed was comfortable and there is no noise heard from other rooms or the streets around. The TV was huge and the fact you can Chromecast from your phone was great for us for watching movies in the evenings we stayed in. Breakfast was 5* with so much choice every single day. The bar inside the hotel is a great vibe and the cocktails tasted great. the barmen were really friendly and super helpful when ordering drinks and deciding what to have. Overall the service, location and everything else about this hotel was incredible and I cannot wait to stay here again.…

Hotel staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Security Officer very helpful with filling prescriptions. Cosngnerie very helpful with directions and selling tour tickets. He will find the best tour for you and NOT best commission for him. Breakfast is all 5 stars. Even has omelets made to order. Better orange juice than Florida. ( I am a Floridian). Bed clean and fresh linens every day. Bath and shower is spacious. Only reason for my 4 stars is the lumpy bed. Very poor mattress otherwise 5 stars.

The hotel is nice, however located in an average area, not what we expected for the amount we paid. BUT the main thing for everyone to take into consideration when visiting Amsterdam is the city is filthy dirty, there is litter and bin bags piled everywhere, used coffee cups etc. such a dreadful shame as it could be an amazing place to be spoiled by something so easily rectified
