There is no better location in Amsterdam. Front desk personnel is excellent. Rooms are comfortable though hall door closings are a nuisance. The bar staff is exceptional but do not eat in the restaurant. Service is indifferent and very tardy though the place is a fabulous art deco site. Breakfast is buffet so no problem there. It is the dinner...

This charming hotel is close to the old town and it's minutes walking from van Gogh's museum and most main attractions in Amsterdam. Staff is always gentle and ready to help tourists. Rooms were clean, sophisticated and elegant. We really appreciated our short stay in this hotel on Amsterdam!

This hotel was a fortunate discovery for us. Although old established and traditional in appearance with 1900 style features in the public rooms, our room was decidedly modern with recently refurbished bathroom. Ideal situation for exploring the city. Friendly helpful staff. Highly recommended.

My room, 117, smelling of old cigarettes, brown 70`s interior, and ladies in the reception in blue uniforms. The hotel was filled with disoriented senior citizens on coach travel and a gigantic brown breakfast room serving meatballs (!) and bread. I never go back again

We had a perfect stay. The hotel is located very central to the trams where you have many different opportunities. The staff was very nice and seevicemmnded. In the restaurant they served a fantastic breakfast. Overall a great stay.

This is a tired hotel, with nothing remarkable about it except position. And at the moment that position is badly affected by the noisy building works in progress on Leidse plain and the adjoining canal. I paid 30 euro supplement a night for a canal view room, and for that I got a digger loader outside my window that sputtered...

As a party of eight, we all had a wonderful time. One of our party, a lady aged 84 had visited the hotel bar about 10 years ago, with her husband and daughters. They always wwanted to stay at the hotel, so I arranged this for our three night stay. It was amazing that when we went into the bar,...

The location of this hotel is perfect, overlooking the canal, on a tram route and 15 mins walk to the centre of town and most tourist attractions. It has a good bar and a beautiful, cavernous dining room for breakfast (I only had coffee so can't comment on the quality of the breakfast). The staff were very friendly and quickly...

The Hampshire Hotel is very centrally located with a most beautiful fountain in front! It is a short walk to the museums, great shopping and the tram stops in Leidseplein Square which can get you farther to Dam Square or Central Train Station. There is a lovely art deco restaurant and American Bar. ALL the people working here are the...

If you are luckily, you can at least chose between worn out rooms where the windows only look like windows but provide no noise reduction towards street noise, or the newly renovated rooms, that are still in a such old building that a neighbor showering produces the noise of a highway going through the room. And because the hotel is...
