This hotel desperately needs a renovation / upgrade. The accommodation fixtures are somewhat 3 star and detract from the hotel experience that is in an A Grade location... Junior Suite layout was disappointing - wash basins in the main room (not in bathroom), a sofa that was from the 70's, 3 different wall heaters that clearly needed replacing and housekeeping didn't know how to operate and a slippery entrance to the shower...

...We were fortune enough to book a Rock Royalty Double room and upon arrival at this hotel the staff were friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble . The hotel was spotless and our room was perfect whilst slightly smaller than you might expect laid out perfectly so that the smaller size didn't impact on being able to relax in the room...

...We took the junior suite for 5 nights, even though we called in advance to check if there is a balcony, we got a room without one. We called the reception to change the room, they said it was possible for the last 2 nights... After 3 nights, we asked to change the room, we were amazed to find out that the hotel is fully booked and there are no rooms with balcony... They asked us for the name of the person that we talked with and when we said we didn’t remember the name- they said that the call never happened and that nobody promised us to change the room ...

...The room was tiny with the bed pushed up against the wall, meaning you have to climb over your partner just to get in it. No bedside table for phone or water, no breakfast included, yet room over €400 a night!!...

...The lighting was so bad in the room and bathroom, that there were weird shadows on your face when trying to apply makeup... I had a weird tight room which you had to squeeze by the bed to not knock your head into the wall-mounted TV...

...Rooms have everything but are a bit gloomy and need need to revert back to traditional bathrooms, good staff generally but expect to be invisible at the main bar.!...

We were allocated an inside room that was very dark. The hand basins were in the main bedroom and the door to the shower/toilet was glass...

We booked three nights using booking.com and, overall, we were not disappointed. We had a superior twin room, though it’s difficult to know whether it was in fact superior... The room was long and narrow, and the beds seem longer than we are used to, which resulted in very little space to squeeze past the np beds to get to the sitting area...

The housekeeping made you stay out until after 5pm because they are too busy to clean your room,, make the beds or provide fresh towels was the excuse. Room was dark, tiny and very cramped... Housekeeping put the heat on and caused the room to be overheated and stuffy...

This beautiful hotel is in the heart of Amsterdam... The rooms are well appointed and beds very comfortable... My only comment is the lighting in the room and bathroom made it difficult to apply makeup...

Stayed in a Rock Royalty Room for 4 nights this February... We had a Rock Royalty Room overlooking the Canal (I highly recommend requesting a canal side if you can)...

...The only downer about our trip was how we were woken every night by people staying either side of us due to the walls being very thin in our room...

...Rooms very spacious (we were in room 109 with a lovely view of the canal), breakfast was nice and they will also make you omelettes or poached eggs if preferred. We booked the Hard Rock Hotel in Amsterdam for my husband's 50th Birthday, as avid music fans, especially rock and heavy metal we have always wanted to stay in the Hard Rock Hotel in one of our favorite cities... They had balloons and birthday wishes in our room for my husband and gave us complementary drinks to celebrate... Our room was gorgeous with a balcony overlooking the fountain in front of the hotel...

...More American horror stories than rock & roll Our room was filthy, most tiny pointless sink in the bathroom, and no where to put your toiletries... We had a river facing room which was lovely (the river view) but my goodness very noisy as it’s on a very busy road which sirens and honking cars... The hotel is also a bit smelly, lobby area, corridor to rooms, and the rooms themselves, even though they are all apparently non smoking... Some people may love this hotel, but just not for us, We usually stay a the Pulitzer hotel, but was fully booked unfortunately... This hotel is located in a great place if you love shopping, is a fair old walk into the old town and to the red light district...

...Hard Rock Amsterdam was very clean, the bed was amazing, and the pillows...chef's kiss. We planned to stay there before and after a Norwegian Cruise... The service was flawless, staff helpful, and the room was great... Upon returning for our second stay after a literal nightmare cruise on the Norwegian Dawn, we were surprised with an upgraded room, a bottle of wine and welcome note in room, and staff that were extremely helpful in assisting us with extending our stay to try to rescue some good vacation feelings before returning home... Overall we ended up staying 7 nights with Hard Rock and 100% it will be our hotel of choice when we return to Amsterdam in the future...

I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam in September 2022 for four nights while attending a conference... While it's an historic building it appears to have been very well maintained and my room was very current in terms of furnishings and amenities... guitar amps in the rooms, record players and guitars available upon request)... The rooms facing the fountain (mine was 322) are quite loud, primarily due to the trams which run essentially constantly from ~6:30AM - midnight, but also from the many people in and around the square...

...Now its been bough over and its just cheap holiday inn with celebrity suits and instruments to hide the decay of the place. Upon entering the place smelled my cheap booze and regret... check in went smooth enough, but my room was a twin while I asked for a double... Neither front desk or costumer service was willing to help and was very condesending to me... Its like they looked at a cheap motel and thought "lets do this breakfast"... Also I had to order my coffee 3 times and it took 25min (it was a black americano so not rocket science)... Anyway, I hope I disuaded you from coming, I really wish someone had done this for me...

...Beware of having to put €200 on your card, for incidentals!!!...

...Service and food were excellent; spend some money and this could be a 5-star gem!...

...For the price that we paid it's inadmissible we are all sad from this experience. We are never going back for sure...

We stayed here last year and had a great time, attentive staff, beautiful clean room and every public area clean so we decided to book again this time through Expedia, we arrived at our room which was the smallest pokiest room ever, the bed was a small double and my husband is 6ft 5 we hardly any room to walk around the bed and the room smelt stale and musty, the carpet smelt and looked like it hadn't been hoovered, it felt dirty and we complained to reception with not much luck, I was told they were fully booked so that we couldn't swap rooms, I was really upset as this was to celebrate our 20 years anniversary, I said about asking for a refund and to book elsewhere and was told they had a twin bed room which we could have put into a double bed, this wasn't done til 11pm at night despite asking at reception 3 times.No apologies... Also the staff need to make it aware before you turn up to check in that they take 50 euros per night you are there off your debit/credit card as a hold which can take over a week to get back, this left us short for our spending money budget , We would not recommend this hotel again which is a shame as first time round it was great, I think when you book through things like Expedia or Boarding.com then you are located the worse rooms, our room was awful and we paid over £300 a night for this...

We booked another room in another hotel, less than 200 meters aways, 5 stars and same price... Its bad to see a good hotel going down this way...

My stay at this hotel was lovely, it was expensive for a 3 day trip but this included breakfast also... It made sense for us to get a hotel in the centre and walk everywhere than getting one near the airport and paying for taxis etc... The staff all seemed to be very attentive and welcoming throughout our stay... Nicole in Rock Royalty was fantastic and looked after us from start to finish... The Rock Royalty perks were outstanding which included a complimentary mini bar with branded spirits (replenished daily) and access to the Rock Royalty Lounge which was on the same floor as all the Rock Royalty Rooms, so you basically have an exclusive floor... They were willing to cater for vegetarian requirements also...

A lovely hotel which gets everything right... The staff are mainly young but their potential lack of experience is more than made up by charm and enthusiasm...

Exellent stay we had for 2 nights here in HRH Amsterdam American. All staff are amazingly attentive, helpful and friendly... From bellboy, to front desk, to cleaners, to restaurants, all are great!... Your team also managed to help us when our son got food allergy, called a cab to bring us to the nearest hospital at night...

Stayed here for 3 nights and opted to upgrade to Rock Royalty. What an experience, from check in with Luka, to the VIP service from Nicole, the whole experience was just perfect... The staff couldn’t do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble!... We even had a record player and albums provided to our room for entertainment... Couid have had a guitar delivered if we wanted!... The breakfast was sumptuous and again treated like royalty by your superb staff- particular shout out to a young French waitress (sorry we didn’t get her name) who was just lovely... The bar tenders In the American bar were attentive and welcoming and we had just the best three days there... Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making Our stay TRULY memorable!!...

This hotel couldn’t disappoint anyone, the fabulous art nouveau style internally and externally is enough to satisfy you, with the added touch of glam offered by the hard rock chain, we have felt very privileged and lucky to stay in such classic luxury...

...The staff are super friendly and speak multiple languages. We went for a deluxe room, which is worth the extra space... It had nice amenities, including nice toiletries, bath robes, nespresso, kettle, and in-room refrigerator... We even got a guitar and amp to use (free with a refundable deposit)... The breakfast buffet in the Americain restaurant had amazing selections including mini muffins, pain au chocolat, pancakes, fruit, smoothies, yogurt, bacon, eggs, sausages...... Best variety I've ever seen in a breakfast buffet...

The hard Rock hotel was in a great location, in terms of both walking about central Amsterdam, but also for getting on and off the trams to different parts of the city. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was well worth it - lots of choice of cold and hot options from a buffet... The rooms were variable, we travelled with two friends (2 couples)... BUT we had a lovely view out the front of the hotel and could see the canal... The staff were all friendly and helpful, particularly the concierges who helped with luggage, booked us a taxi to return to the airport and were generally chatty and pleasant... The bar served some great cocktails, although these were pricey...

The housekeeping made you stay out until after 5pm because they are too busy to clean your room,, make the beds or provide fresh towels was the excuse...

...Stayed in a Rock Royalty Room for 4 nights this February. The location was excellent for Amsterdam and easy to get the bus to and from the airport... The staff all seemed to be very attentive and welcoming throughout our stay... Nicole in Rock Royalty was fantastic and looked after us from start to finish... We had a Rock Royalty Room overlooking the Canal (I highly recommend requesting a canal side if you can)... The Rock Royalty perks were outstanding which included a complimentary mini bar with branded spirits (replenished daily) and access to the Rock Royalty Lounge which was on the same floor as all the Rock Royalty Rooms, so you basically have an exclusive floor... They were willing to cater for vegetarian requirements also... - Rock Royalty Evenings Snacks should either be bigger or you should be allowed to order a few of the snacks per person...

From check in to check out it is a laid back, cool experience. From being able to borrow a fender guitar for the room, the Bluetooth speaker that allows you to blast out your tunes to the amazing American Cafe - it was a great experience...

...It was in a perfect location with trams outside and it was only a 20 min walk to most places. They left us a lovely message in the room for our honeymoon...

The views of downtown Amsterdam with floor to ceiling windows and solid food make this a great brunch spot... The hollandaise sauce was too heavy on vinegar and the consistency was way off so avoid the Benedict dishes but the drinks (including fresh squeezed orange juice) and espressos were on point...

Stayed here for 3 nights and opted to upgrade to Rock Royalty. What an experience, from check in with Luka, to the VIP service from Nicole, the whole experience was just perfect... The staff couldn’t do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble!... We even had a record player and albums provided to our room for entertainment... The breakfast was sumptuous and again treated like royalty by your superb staff- particular shout out to a young French waitress (sorry we didn’t get her name) who was just lovely... The bar tenders In the American bar were attentive and welcoming and we had just the best three days there... I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly on the staff alone, but the ambiance, service, and the rooms were second to none... Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making Our stay TRULY memorable!!... Oh and did I mention the rock royalty rooms were amazing??... Rainfall showers, turn down service with Treats, mini bars and the biggest, most comfortable bed I ever slept on!...

We really enjoyed our time at the hotel. The staff were very nice, the room was ready for us before official check in time which was very helpful, since we arrived exhausted from the airport... Room view was lovely, the room itself was clean and well equipped... Breakfast was good and we loved sitting in front of those big windows looking to the street every morning... Overall we really enjoyed our stay...

...Amsterdam was perfect as neither of us had visited before. All through our 4 night stay, everyone in the hotel was cheerful and polite from the Reception staff, Breakfast staff to the Room attendees, who kept our room spotless and well stocked with all essentials... As other reviewers have stated, the beds were so comfortable that sleep came easy, essential when you are trying to cram in as much sightseeing as possible... The breakfast buffet was extensive, hot and cold preferences were suitably provided to satisfy all tastes... Poached eggs, omelettes were available to order... The Breakfast staff were efficient and friendly, without being intrusive... The Breakfast staff also presented my wife with a Special Pin for her collection and she also now has a hard rock bear called Carlos... We were also given a glass of Bubbly to get the day off to a great start... Thanks to everyone in the Hotel who we spoke too or helped arrange taxis, directions etc for us...

Hotel was beautiful and very central and within walking distance to all attractions. Tram stop outside if didn’t want to walk... Rooms very spacious (we were in room 109 with a lovely view of the canal), breakfast was nice and they will also make you omelettes or poached eggs if preferred...

We stayed at the hardrock for 3 nights, staff where extremely helpful and friendly, the breakfast was 10/10 definitely worth adding to your stay. Great location nice walk into the red light district, plenty of restaurants around the hotel tram just outside...

...The lobby is very well designed and has a very nice bar... The Junior suite ( 307) is very spacious and comfortable and the canal view is beautiful... The location is great and just a 3-minute walk from Leidseplein and around you can find many great bars, dance bars, cafes, and restaurants... On top of that 3 major tram lines are crossing the hotel so you can reach everywhere in just a few minutes...

...Towels are rough and very small, carpets are filthy and just overall the hotel is a bit tacky... The breakfast was nice, but if you wanted eggs Benedict or avocado it’s an extra charge, and a big plus was that you could sign into your Netflix account on the tv... The beds are very comfortable which is a huge plus... This hotel is located in a great place if you love shopping, is a fair old walk into the old town and to the red light district...

...Everyone was so friendly, hotel beautifully clean. Breakfast area was simply amazing and enjoying a drink at the bar felt like you was in the back streets of Amsterdam... Location is amazing being very close to tram connections to the city centre... Short walk from many other sights aswell... And the Hard Rock Cafe just a stone throw away... A massive thank you to Claire who welcomed us and took care of us...

...Clean is number 1, comfortable bed and pillows number 2 and a bathroom that has at least basic updates. Hard Rock Amsterdam was very clean, the bed was amazing, and the pillows...chef's kiss... We planned to stay there before and after a Norwegian Cruise... The service was flawless, staff helpful, and the room was great... They had all of the expected items plus you could order special egg dishes as per your requirement... I love scrambled eggs, but the fried, omelette, poached option was nice to have... The pastries were excellent and their baristas making whatever coffee order you prefer were top notch... You could even get a coffee in a to go cup if necessary... The juice bar selection was also varied... Upon returning for our second stay after a literal nightmare cruise on the Norwegian Dawn, we were surprised with an upgraded room, a bottle of wine and welcome note in room, and staff that were extremely helpful in assisting us with extending our stay to try to rescue some good vacation feelings before returning home... Overall we ended up staying 7 nights with Hard Rock and 100% it will be our hotel of choice when we return to Amsterdam in the future... It is located perfectly for easy walking to dining, shopping, other Amsterdam treats and popular sites/tours... There is s grocery directly across the street for any of your snack, water, essentials needs for longer stays... The placement of this hotel is one of the best we have come across in our travels as it pertains to convenience... If you have to make a choice in Amsterdam and want a clean and unique hotel with great staff and amazing breakfast - definitely stay here...

...While it's an historic building it appears to have been very well maintained and my room was very current in terms of furnishings and amenities. I was also able to check in early (around 11AM) without difficulty... The hotel has a great sense of style with lots of music memorabilia and fun touches (e.g... guitar amps in the rooms, record players and guitars available upon request)... The breakfast was excellent with a wide array of healthy and hearty options... I got earplugs from the front desk, but if you are a sensitive sleeper you should definitely request a room on one of the other sides (I imagine the side facing the canal would be by far the most quiet)...
