We visited the Alfred hotel from the 2nd-5th February this year and really liked it The hotel is in a lovely location, the museum district has some lovely places to eat and drink, is gorgeous to walk around and also close to the centre (walking distance if you enjoy walking or really regular trams) The reception is open 24 hours...

Myself & a friend stayed here for 1 night in January. It cost us about £80 for a double room with en suite. You had to pay extra if you wanted breakfast. We got to the hotel about 12.30pm but unfortunately they couldn't check us in until the check in time of 2pm. The staff on reception were very friendly...

Great access to bus, trams and near Van Gogh , bakeries and supermarkets. However, basic facilities expected in a 4 start hotel were missing, such as a fridge, An iron, daily water, kettle, poor lighting, VERY thin walls, poorly ventilated which makes this place overpriced for what it offers.

I booked this hotel through Booking.com for a conference that I am attending from March 11th. to March 14th.Only yesterday I realized that I had made a mistake (or Booking.com did) and booked for February 11th. to 13th. I am 72 years old and have been in the hospitality business for over 40 years but this is the first time...

Clean room, all the basic necessities are provided, friendly staff, easy to obtain public transportation ,the only reason not given full rating is due to the faulty coffee machine in the room, besides that everything was great :)

Great staff member swiftly sorted us to our room after a long night of walking.. the room was compact and efficient, however there was no feeling of claustrophobia.. nice little vending machine for snacks and loads of info leaflets for tourists.. overall an amazing budget hotel.. This hotel proves that budget hotels can be amazing.. I would boost it a...

Good location near the Vondelpark and the museums, close to 2 tramway lines. The room was nice and very clean. The hotel itself could stand some repair (the lift was out of order). The breakfast is not cheap but quite correct. The staff was willing to help, though perhaps not very efficiently (fortunately there was a good wifi connection to...

Having stayed here for 5 nights I cannot fault the hotel, very friendly upon checkin, rooms are very up to date and extremely comfortable. Bathroom is superb, and nice having the safe in the room, the hotel is local to all the tram stops you need and buses. I would definitely stay here again. Fantastic staff and good prices.

One of the best price quality ratio hotels in Amsterdam . Stayed there for a couple of nights and would definitely repeat it. Helpful staff and super close to the center of the city. Rooms are clean. Highly recommend it.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
