We stayed here for a 3 night break through a UK company called Superbreak. We requested a high room and were given a lovely side room on the 3rd floor. Bathroom was small, but we have come to expect this - but it was extremely clean. Also good wardrobe space and hangers. The hotel was in a perfect location -...

What a lovely hotel in a great location! Central but not the dynamics of the canal Area. Situated near Tropenmuseum, Artis and great restaurants like louie louie. Rooms and shower are stylish and comfortable and breakfast is good. Thank you so much for the gesture towards War Child!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, in which we experienced a relatively comfortable and clean room and mostly friendly staff. However, firstly, upon arrival we discovered our safe did not work and tried to explain this to the receptionist, who did not seem interested at all and told us to try again. After we went...

Dear Sir, Madam, I'm very sorry to hear that your expectation didn't match the reality. During the weekends we do not have any technical staff in the hotel but an alternative for your safe problems should have been given by the reception, I am sorry that this did not happen. Thanks a lot for writing this review. With your input...

Hotel was close to the areas we wanted to be near. Really clean and a good base for the weekend. Room was smallish but we expected that. Friendly staff and would definitely book again if I'm ever back in Amsterdam

The Hotel has a great location - the small rooms are also nice and comfortable, bathroom is too small. It would be nice if you can check that the room is on basement. Breakfast was great, personal really nice!

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.

“Given what I said regarding other reviews and the size of rooms, if you know you like a larger room book it, the hotel does give information with regards to the sizes. We were not disappointed with our room and it had everything we required including space.”
