The room was great with lots of windows which did not open, fun view, clean, BUT the (sink) water did not work for one night. No help was offered, not even a bottle of water. As we checked in, a couple checking out said the internet never worked. We got it to work but it was free for 30 minutes... More

Stayed just one night at this Hotel when in Amsterdam to watch Take That. We arrived mid Monday afternoon and the first pleasing thing is that the hotel is right on the tram stop coming from the central station (approx 10 minutes ride), so literaly stepped off tram and in to hotel. Staff spoke very good english and were very... More

This was a great little hotel right in the heart of Amsterdam. It is situated literally steps from the tram (which you can take all over the place). The staff was great, the rooms and bathroom were big, the hotel bar and restaurant was very hip.

We recently stayed at Dikker & Thijs Hotel in Amsterdam with a few couples and we loved it. Our room was under the roof with original wood trusses and a great view at Prinsengracht. The staff was very friendly and we definitely enjoyed our stay. When we stayed there, we also had dinner at the newly opened restaurant Thijs in... More

Very good hotel, confortable and big bedroom. Very good location, a lot of restaurants, bars etc around and from the window a beautiful view from the Prinsengracht canal. Beautiful! Strongly recommended. Internet is not free though - 24h of use for 10 euros.

I've been to Amsterdam multiple times for both business and pleasure - while this was a business trip the hotel came out of my own pocket so I was bargain hunting. I found a great rate on Booking.com for this hotel for about a third of the conference hotel rate - and couldn't be happier - Canal-view room on the... More

Had a very nice stay here: pleasant comfortable room, friendly service. My room was canalside -- those rooms seem to be nicer than some of the others, which were smaller and didn't have as much light. But mine had big windows, a great view, etc. I was worried about noise -- the hotel is close to the Leidesplein, and there... More

Girlie weekend in Holland, one night in Amsterdam. Booked superior room with canal view (2nd floor 308). Room was spacious, twin beds and chairs to relax on with a glass of wine. So nice to watch barges going by and enjoy the skill of the captains as they negotiated the bridges, busy area, but did not disturb sleep. Clean, comfortable,... More

We arranged a last minute sojourn to Amsterdam and experienced sticker shock in attempting to find a nice room in a nice section of the city -- one that reflected the charm and beauty of this cityscape. I spent several hours looking online and kept coming back to the Dikker & Thijs hotel. We secured 2 rooms in the hotel... More

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night, and were upgraded to a superior room on the 2nd floor, with dual aspect to the canal and to the Leidsestraat. Despite being on the 1st floor (room 104), and despite the buzz of busy sunday evening traffic and trams going past, we found the room remarkably quiet. It was a massive... More
