We stayed at this hotel in July of 2012. The hotel is centrally located and near to many Amsterdam sights. Beautiful lobby, breakfast rooms, bar, and our own room was very nice as well with a view out into the canal. Smallish with an updated bathroom. The staff really went out of their way to help us with anything we...

I have to ditto the high praise of other reviewers of this hotel. We stayed for 4 nights in late April, but just before the April 30 festivities for the new king's ascent. When we first arrived on the train from the airport, we tried to take a cab and the driver refused to take us because he said you...

Hotel overlooks a canal and is in a wonderful location within walking distance of all shopping and museums. From the time you walk in the lobby you realize you are in a very special place. There are several areas off the lobby to sit and relax. Coffee, cookies, and many assorted candies are always available. Vases of flowers are everywhere...

Two night stay at this lovely canal side hotel. Room was a little small but no matter as we were out for most of the time. Excellent location, just a very short stroll to Dam and so handy for the major attractions. Was very quiet inside and and felt very safe at night. Breakfast very good before we braved many...

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in April. We had a canal-view room (#507) on the 5th floor. I had specifically requested a room on that top floor; as the front of the hotel is on the canal, the room was quiet, as well as being well-appointed. The bathroom was small, but certainly adequate. We chose to...

Just returned from 2 nights at the Estherea. Having read the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor I made a booking for me and my husband and we were not disappointed. The hotel is beautiful internally, with the lounge/library/bar areas decorated to a very high standard. Our room (518 on top floor and at the back of the hotel - we had...

We splurged on staying at the Estherea for 5 days during high season. It was worth it. Our friends stayed across the hall and had a similar opinion. I had asked for a quiet room and they gave us the top floor on the end which was very peaceful. The room decor was opulent with wallpaper, lush silk drapes, crystal...

We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of May & thought it was a lovely hotel. It was my Partner's birthday on the day of arrival & the hotel had left a courtesy bottle of red wine in the room, with a note wishing him a happy birthday. A lovely touch! We had room 218, which overlooked an inner...

this hotels has it all: very kind staff at your disposal, nice decoration, a bit kitch but at the same time cosy and classy. Rooms are in great condition, clean and slippers in the room. Bathroom is perfect with bubble bath and shower. Breakfast is wellbalanced and with lots of choice. Nice detail: free coffee, tea, hot coco or some...

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
