We booked this hotel well in advance, even making a phone call directly to them to confirm we had a double room, namely one bed adequate for two persons, or two singles. Our room was on the top floor, canal view. Arrived to find our room with a mini single bed ( large enough for a child). I advised that... More

We stayed in the Rose suite for 2 nights in May, and we were delighted with everything. The room had a lot of character with loads of wood paneling, a double shower, jacuzzi bath, even a tv in the bathroom mirror! The bed was really comfy,I slept so well. The hotel, whilst having 90+ rooms, still has a wonderful boutique... More

I stayed here on my own for 3 nights mid-May - absolutely gorgeous hotel - check out the photos on their website! Good location, close to Anne Frank house and within 20 minutes walk of the museums (Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh). I stayed in one of their more basic rooms - a classic double with no canal view on the... More

This hotel is excellent with beautiful interior decor. In our walks around Amsterdam, I didn't see any place that I would have preferred to stay. The staff was very helpful. There were many free benefits - rain poncho, umbrella on request, coffee/tea service, and light snacks including cookies, candies, and nuts. The location is excellent with major sites and shopping... This is a fantastic boutique hotel ideally located in Amsterdam. It is a very well-appointed small hotel that is to be commended for the high quality evident in EVERY aspect of this accommodation. The staff treat you as a valued guest and are willing and gracious when providing assistance: this treatment is demonstrated from the maids to the front desk... More

I had read the reveiws on tripsdvisor and other sites and decided to book this hotel for our stay in Amsterdam . Wow I'm so glad I did .. It is a beautiful hotel with chandeliers and a beautiful and cozy lobby/sitting area . It felt more like home or an estate property. Its look is an elegant, classy old... More

Spent 3 nights here with my girlfriend in january/february and it was a perfect match for us. Very helpful staff, a beautiful reception cat and inviting, romantic rooms. We usually ordered a wine or beer in the bar after long days of exploring Amsterdam, and both agreed the hotel was one of our best hotel experiences ever.

We spent three wonderful days at HE earlier this month. The location is superb in this very walkable city. The reception staff were helpful except for help on tickets for Anne Frank House. (As an aside, just show up a few minutes before nine and the line moves very quickly.) the coffee bar was nice since the weather was a... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in May 2013 and loved it. We found it to be within walking distance of everything we wanted to see, and there are lots of restaurants and bars close by. The hotel is unassuming from the outside but feels sumptuous when you enter the lobby. It has an elegant lobby and just off the... More

Stayed for 4 days from 17-21April 2013. Simply wonderful. Clean and fantastic staff hospitality...the black resident cat at the lobby was friendly too. Definitely deserves next stay for future visit to Amsterdam.
