This hotel is a real gem. Situated close to everything you might need in Amsterdam, staff are very helpful and always friendly. Unlimited tea, coffee and cakes all day in reception. Comfortable well appointed rooms. An excellent choice, we were a party of seven and booked three rooms. All rooms were comfortable, we all had good nights sleep.

Loved this place. It combines the warmth of a B&B with the breadth of service and amenities of larger luxury hotels. The decor is luxe, sexy Victorian charm, and I often found myself hanging out in the lobby, which isn't something I normally do at a hotel. The bar and restaurant are equally cozy, and the ever-present coffee, tea, and...

From the moment we entered, we were greeted by extremely friendly staff to help with check in as well as our baggage and getting us settled in. The room was great, although the bathroom was fairly small. However, everything was very clean and all ready for us to get comfortable in our room. The overall look and atmosphere of the...

This hotel is a gem! Once inside (it's deceptively plain exterior) the lobby, bar, and front desk area are beautiful. The front desk staff are friendly, professional and helpful. For less than $100 for the night, our stay included a personal ipad for our use while there, complimentary espresso/latte, tea, scented water, cookies/pastries, Danish candies, bathrobes, slippers, and top of...

I think Hotel Estherea is a vintage hotel, as the rooms are beautifully vintage decorated. It’s located right by the quiet canal and near the city center. Dam square, interesting tourist sights, department stores, shopping centers, Central Station, restaurants and cafes are within walking distance. Our room was small but well designed. It’s quiet, warm and cozy. The bathroom is...

Had a great stay at the Hotel Estherea. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean and well decorated with canal views - a bit small, but we didn't mind. Location was perfect. And the coffee bar downstairs was a nice touch. What's not to love? Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel situated on the canal. The location is good, near most of the usual tourist sites and the shopping areas, complementary tea/coffee throughout the day was nice as was the bar/lounge area. Will certainly be back.

The positive aspects of our experience at this hotel arise from its great location, which is beside a canal and equidistant from the train station and museum quarter, and from the well appointed lobby. Our general impression, though, was overwhelmingly negative. The room was absurdly small - around 12sqm excluding the bathroom - and dominated by nice but inexplicably dusty...

This hotel is beautifully decorated with great charm. The location is great - right by the canal and very near the center. Our room was small but nicely decorated and very quite. The reception was very helpful and the lounge was extremely pleasant. The staff was very friendly. Great service - I highly recommend this hotel.

We recently stayed in this hotel for a short break and found it to be both beautiful and well cared for. All the staff were very friendly and the breakfast superb. I would definitely recommend staying here if going to Amsterdam!

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
