Very nice hotel, clean and fresh, perfect location and the staff were amazing, they couldn't do enough for us, breakfast is a continental one and was plenty to get your day started.👍 The hotel area was nice and seemed an expensive area and you've got a shirt walk to the museum Quarter and the metro lines.
Tasteful, elegant decor in rooms and reception/library area. Very attentive and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Walking distance to museums, restaurants, shopping and public transport, Very comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here again.
If you are staying in Amsterdam and want a quiet hotel in a super convenient location, this is where you want to be. The museumplein is just a couple blocks away, Vondelpark was a short walk. Stops for the #2 and #12 trams that will take you to the center of the city, are a block away. It could not have been a better location. Much quieter than an equivalent hotel on a canal. The hotel itself is charming, the rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. Staff is very helpful and even friendly. The elevator is a bit of a challenge (small and tricky door). We found that we preferred walking upstairs when without luggage, but we were on the first floor. If you are on a higher floor and are not willing to walk, then you will have to wait for a single old-style elevator. There was a standard breakfast selection (eggs, bacon, sausage) served to the table. Yogurt, cereals, fruit and juices were available to serve yourself. We found the coffee here to be the best we had on our trip through The Netherlands and Belgium.…
We recently stayed for 4 nights with a group of friends. The staff was wonderful, very helpful and friendly. The hotel was in a great location, close to the museums and in a quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was very good. Great hotel!
Great experience! The location is super nice, way calmer than in the canals and still a few blocks away. Great location for visiting the museums. The hotel is better than the pictures convey. The best was the staff, it was super friendly and helpful, they truly made me feel at home. Thanks Taquir and Saskia!
This lovely hotel is located on a quiet street in the museum district-the Rijksmuseum and VanGogh museum are only a few blocks away. The rooms are nicely decorated, quite comfortable and a good size. Some rooms have a balcony where you can sit with your morning coffee or a glass of wine enjoying the location. Bathrooms are large. Breakfast, which is provided at an additional cost, is quite tasty, the staff is very friendly and efficient. I have stayed at this property three times and would definitely return.
Best staff who are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very convenient and good quality. The hotel is located in a safe & quiet area near to the Rijksmuseum. Rooms are clean, modern & tidy, only thing is the stairs and bathrooms are small. Lift / elevator works well though! I slept very well there - beds are very comfortable! Definitely recommend
Just returned from a fabulous five-day stay at this adorable and meticulously managed boutique hotel in the leafy museum district of Amsterdam. We liked being a bit away from the frantic center but within walking distance of everything. It’s a short stroll to the fantastic Vondelpark (with the Picasso sculpture) and the lively De Pijp neighborhood (with the fun Albert Cuyp market) and the charming Oud-Zuid neighborhood (home to the best Indonesian restaurant, Blauw—reservations essential). The tram stops a block away. Our room on the second floor was beautifully appointed (lovely mix of old and new) and had a gorgeous little balcony that we enjoyed very much. Only complaints are that the room didn’t have storage for clothes (a few drawers would be good) and the default breakfast brought to individual tables include meat. We suggest asking guests about their dietary preferences before bringing meat to the table at breakfast. The vegetarian breakfast we were brought on request was excellent. Oh, non-dairy milk options would be nice. All the hotel staff we encountered were great—friendly and professional. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Amsterdam!…
We spent 2 nights at the Jan Luyken Hotel in April prior to boarding a river cruise. We selected this hotel because the rates were reasonable (not super cheap) and its location in the Museum District. We liked it a lot, and have already referred friends to stay there. It does not get a perfect score, but it met our needs well. PROS: --You can book a king size bed. This is rare in Europe, but important to me. The bed was very comfortable, too. --The area is super quiet at night. Our room was on the street level and we didn't hear a thing. --The hotel is only a couple of blocks to the Museum Plein, where most of the really important art museums are. --Public transportation is abundant within a block or two. --The breakfasts are very good. We didn't ever finish the pastries provided, and they happily made eggs to order. --The hotel is only a block from a very chi-chi shopping street with luxury brand shops. --There are really good restaurants within a several block radius. --It is only a couple of blocks from Vondelpark, Amsterdam's Central Park. CONS: --If you are looking for canal views and tourist shops (we were not), this is the wrong part of town. A longish walk, tram ride or quick Uber willl get you to that area pronto. -- There are little round tables in each room, but no desk and no proper chair to use if you want to work on a laptop. Working remotely from these rooms is not possible. --There is no dresser or drawers so you have to keep your suitcase out. There are no closets, either, but there is a rod with hangers. --the bathrooms are well appointed, but ours had a bathtub/shower combo, and the tub was very deep and sloped. Climbing up and into it for a shower felt dangerous, with no anti skid mat . Management did tell me they have accessible rooms with stall shower available-- you have to know to ask for it. -- hotel staff is variable; we had excellent assistance, but we watched another guest get no help with an easily solvable problem. They don't seem to have much knowledge of dining options beyond the immediate vicinity.…
This hotel is ideally located with excellent facilities and friendly staff. The cocktails were reasonably priced. The bedroom decor and the king size bed was to die for. The breakfast arrangements were superb with individual attention. They took special care for vegans amongst our travelling party.
