I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the museums and galleries and the good reviews on Trip Advisor. Also because it was near the bus / tram stop to and from the airport. I did need help to find it as at present the exterior isn't the same as in the pictures due to the road outside being... More

Location: Great location in the "Paris" part of town (as opposed to the "Las Vegas" part of town). A stones throw to the Museum, a short walk to the canal belt, a longer walk (but still a walk) to Centrum. Don't hesitate to get the tram here from Amsterdam Centraal Station - it'll only take you a few extra minutes... More

The location was perfect for our trip. The staff was great. The room was clean and very comfortable. There is no parking at the hotel. Public parking is the area is expensive (40 Euro/day). An alternative is to park at the Olympic stadium for 8 Euro/day including a public transport pass.

This hotel was perfectly situated in the museum center and next to the tram stop (#2,5). I was able to go directly to the hotel from the Schipol Airport on the bus (Line 197). Great location and walking distance to all the best museums (Rijks and Van Gogh) in Amsterdam. The only downfall is the current street construction in front... More

We where traveling 2 friends and enjoyed the hotel single rooms . The location is perfect, the staff kind and the room was ok, equipped with Air-condition (a blessing at 30C deggrees on July) , fridge, safe, TV and an electric kettle to prepare coffee. Just one small problem, there is only one lift, and the stairs are not comfortable.... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
