We are Hilton Diamond members and loved this hotel. The staff was so terrific, warm and helpful. The hotel is located in the most upscale neighborhood of Amsterdam with great areas to walk and many fine cafes. The Diamond breakfast included their daily buffet. It was outstanding. They will make you custom omelets in addition to a huge well displayed buffet with everything for every taste. We were upgraded to a canal view room directly across from the John Lennon/Yoko honeymoon suite. The hotel was very clean clean and our room was also clean and neat. We would highly recommend this hotel for your next stay.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed with 2 children in connecting rooms. Check in was easy and friendly. The atmosphere in the hotel is one of calm and luxury. There is an feeling of grandeur because of the nice finishing of the rooms and halls/lobby. The rooms are quiet but hot. The windows don’t open….and the airco has a lot of work to cool the rooms. We loved the room with it’s nice details, carpets and fantastic bathroom/shower. The view even at street side is nice. Breakfast was very good, lot’s of choices, friendly staff and good products. We had dinner at Roberto s which was delicious. We were a bit disappointed that the coffee bar did not open during our stay. The terras bar is wonderful. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we’re especially charmed by the staff. Always interested and ready to help with some personal tips and stories. They we’re great! We hope to come back.

We were on a Rhine River Cruise and stayed two days before boarding the ship. The staff was excellent. Very friendly and willing to help. We had breakfast on two days and both of those were fine as well. Lots to see and do and within walking distance

We only had a short stay at this hotel after a cruise. We arrived early on a Friday morning well outside the normal check-in time. We went to check-in and see if they had somewhere safe to store our bags so we could head out and explore. We were pleasantly surprised that the lady on the desk said she would see if she could sort and early check-in for us. To our delight a room was available and we were able to head up straight away. I also explained that due to our flight time being changed we would now have to leave at 05.00 hours and would miss our pre-booked breakfast - so asked for a packed breakfast to be ready prior to departure. She kindly offered for us to take breakfast on that morning instead of the following day. The room was lovely and had all the usual Hilton extras. We ate early in the bar terrace area in the evening as we were too early for the main restaurant. Food and service were both good. We had a pre paid hotel voucher and our credit card was pre authorised on arrival. A small charge was take from the card after departure which I didn't recognise. I emailed the hotel on my return and the duty manager emailed promptly explaining it was City Tax that wasn't include in the prepaid voucher and attached the receipt. Overall exceptionally please with the hotel. It's in a really good location away from the hustle and bustle which is easily accessible. It's close to the Vondlepark which is beautiful. We hired bikes for the day close by and saw all the sights easily.

I am glad to choose hilton hotel amsterdam. Rates are reasonable, very courteous staff. Am thankful to room service staff who takes care of the need of the customers promptly. It was a wonderful and cosy stay and the place and surroundings are very neatly maintained. I would rate 5/5 but i will keep it 4/5 to let them stay improving

We arrived as a family for a week stay and had issues with the hotel right from the start. When we first arrived, a security deposit was put on our credit card for the entire stay upfront. That seemed odd to me, however the predominant issue was that the deposit was rung though TWICE. So instead of roughly $5500 being held on my credit card, it was approximately $11000. This limited the amount of credit I now had for use on my Visa. When I brought the matter to the attention of the Hilton Guest Relations Dept I was told this overcharge would be handled immediately. After a few days of not seeing the reversal, I went to the front desk where I was told the overcharge had been reversed. Unfortunately my bank records showed otherwise. I then called my financial institution and was told the process takes between 5-7 business days. However, it could be done immediately if the hotel were to call my bank directly. Perfect. When I relayed those instructions to the front desk I was told it would be taken care of the next morning. Long story short, the charges were reversed, but for some reason another hold was put on my account the NEXT DAY. When I went to the front desk to ask what happened, I was told it was a technical error on their end and that the hold would be reversed ASAP. I reached out to guest services via email to keep me posted as to exactly when this would be reversed yet never got a response back. 5 days after checking out of the hotel, the final hold on my account had been removed. With respect to the dining service, on the positive was Robertos. Terrific breakfast and wonderful service. The Garden Terrace on the other hand was another story. Slow and sometime rude service with underwhelming main courses. The prime rib was more like a hanger steak and the prawns were cold and mealy. The kicker was my wife had broken her foot while on the trip and I asked my son to go down to the Garden Terrace to ask for some ice. He was told “no” because it was a hot day and other rooms were also asking for ice. When I went down and explained the situation, I was given a few ice cubes. I then walked over to Robertos and was given as much ice as I wanted. For a trip we had been planning for 3 years - a true disappointment.

Hands down one of the best hotels I ever stayed in (and I travel several times a month). Really a smooth, flawless, relaxing stay. Staff is very friendly, attentive and nice. The cleanliness is impressive. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are nice and quiet. We got upgraded to a canal view, and the view from the room was amazing. Breakfast was one of the best ones I have ever had in a hotel (if not the best). The variety and the quality of the food and beverages excellent. The location is great too in a nice, green, safe area close to the museums. I will be definitely coming back if in Amsterdam again.

Quiet setting not too far from the old town section of Amsterdam. Choose this location with confidence for business and or relaxation. Very restful and pleasant. You can walk our taxi to the hustle and bustle, but here you can relax and enjoy.

I think if you're staying here for a conference or as a muster point for a cruise or tour, it's completely fine. The rooms are nice & clean & updated. The staff was very nice & helpful. Due to flight cancellations, we had to book at the last minute and selected this hotel based on the reputation of the Hilton brand. Of our month-long journey, this was our least favorite hotel stay. There were just little issues everywhere-- our fridge was broken so we couldn't cool beverages. They sent in maintenance who couldn't fix the issue and made no offer to move rooms or any sort of compensation. Then, at check out I had a whole hassle w/ explaining the issue to them so I wasn't charged for the entire minibar since the maintenance person knocked it over while trying to fix it. The breakfast situation was a little odd. We booked two rooms of 2 people but we are family of 4 (two adults & two kids) travelling together. Each morning, it was seemingly a huge task for them to seat us next to each other. Obviously, we like to sit together and plan our day. It was just very odd to have to explain our preference that we not be separated, even though we have two rooms, each morning. Be aware that this place is about a 20 minute tram ride from the downtown core. This area is pretty quiet & residential. That may be a pro or con in your view but something to be aware of. We liked the fact that it was quiet but felt it was a little further out than we would have preferred. Getting to the airport is easy. We walked to Amsterdam Zuid train station and paid $4 eu for a ticket on the regional train (runs every few minutes) one stop. In the future, I'd look for a boutique-style hotel a little closer in. Definitely felt like we paid a 5 star price for less than 5 star accomodations.

We had a lovely stay at The Hilton Amsterdam. Having previously stayed in small boutique hotel’s in the city in the past, it was definitely refreshing to have such spacious rooms, with stunning views of the canal. It was our first time doing connecting rooms with our 9 year old daughter and it really made for a comfortable experience. I’ve written a separate review of Roberto’s, one of the hotels restaurants, which I was less than impressed with. But the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the internet was flawless and the Crabtree and Evelyn products in the bathroom were delightful. Within walking distance is a gorgeous neighborhood with restaurants, boutiques and the Vondel Park. I would definitely stay here again.
