Firstly there is s tiny sign on the door so you need to be on top of it before you aware of it. We chose this as it was on a canal so thought it would be a bit quieter, wrong its on a busy intersection and if you are in room 1 dont expect a good nights sleep as...

This is an average B&B and is expensive, given the generally poor condition of the place. It could be so much better if the room and entrance was maintained properly. The bedroom had only one bedside lamp working and there were no globes in the overhead light. The wall paintwork was in poor condition amd there was a major crack...

We stayed at B&B1657 in early May for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. It is situated directly opposite a beautiful canal and above a little bar. We had to climb a few steep and narrow sets of stairs to get to our...

This B&B has a disappointing entrance, but once inside we were very happy to stay in this apartment for our 3 wonderful nights in Amsterdam. Having breakfast at he owners hotel around the corner was excellent and the girl there were extremely helpful, pleasant and provided great service. Close to Rembrandts Square and overlooked the canal, position was great to...

We stayed here right after they had opened, and weren't even able to stay the first night of our reservation due to a late flight in. When we showed up the next morning, the staff were more than apologetic, upgraded our room, and we ate and drank for free at the Toon restaurant next door for the rest of our...

The location is on the corner of Herengracht, one of the nicest canals, and Utrechtstraat, so it is close to restaurants and cafes in Rembrandtplein, and a short walk from the Rijksmuseum or Dam Square, and about 20 mins walk from Central Station. B&B 1657 consists of five floors with an office on the first floor and then a room...

My husband and I spent 4 nites here. Prior to leaving home - we exchanged several emails with the B&B and they were very helpful with directions (tram and to walk), where to park etc... We also received an email from them a day before our stay that Hotel Toon, where we were to have breakfast was under renovation, but...

Sal and Els have the formula just right. Good communication and directions prior to arrival. Friendly welcome. Nicely done room and bathroom with ever-changing scene from the window. Great cafe (Toon) also owned by them for breakfast - have what you like. Free minibar, nuts, sweets, coffee-table books. Very good location for access throughout Amsterdam. Would definitely come here again.

When my husband and I first arrived to the B&B, we were in love with its decor - a bit rustic yet modern and cozy. The breakfast was good in the mornings and was prepared for us no matter what time we would come to eat. From other reviews, we were prepared that our bathroom would be on the other...
