Very comfortable hotel just 5 minutes straight walk to Amsterdam Zuid Train Station. The hotel is set in a quiet location for a good nights sleep. Being Crowne Plaza it is noticeably up market from Holiday Inns. ALL the staff were excellent at the hotel both on check in and check out, in the bar in the evening and at Breakfast (the English chap at breakfast was very helpful ) Rooms are quiet and clean . The hotel recognizes IHG membership so we will definitely return.

We enjoy a fair amount of long weekend city breaks around Europe, but no hotel has ever come this close to the 5* service we received at the Crowne Plaza. Everything from the welcome, our clean & comfortable room and the staff's friendly manner, made us feel so welcome & exceeded our expectations during the stay. Nothing seemed like too much trouble, I can't compliment the staff enough! The breakfast was amazing; well stocked & such an enormous variety. The hotel's location is in a peaceful area, but only a 5 minute walk to the train station & a 15-20 minute train ride into central Amsterdam. We left very happy customers as well as new IHG members, so we will certainly be returning in the future. We'd highly recommend a visit here!

This is BY FAR THE SLOWEST restaurant I’ve ever been to in my entire life… The food is ok but I really wanted to walk out. I ordered something small.. Why must it be so slooooow? Food was ok when it finally arrived… why so slow? No idea. Why must it be sooo slow???

My preferred hotel when I travel to Amsterdam for business. The rooms are lovely, comfortable beds, friendly staff and the gym is excellent. A perfect place to work out and offset the bitten balls and beers. Highly recommended for business.

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam Zuid for a few nights when attending a conference at the RAI convention centre in Amsterdam. The hotel is very conveniently located, literally 3 minutes walk from Amsterdam Zuid (Amsterdam South) train/metro station - you exit the station and a short walk to the main road, cross over that and the hotel is 1 block behind that main road. Check-in was quick and easy, and my room (on the 4th floor) was well presented, and the usual 'city hotel' type of room. The area is quite built-up with buildings around but I had a view of the canal outside the hotel. My room was a twin (2 single beds) with desk. Plenty of sockets to charge your phone etc. Wardrobe with ironing board & iron, safe, fridge (for keeping any mini bar purchases from reception). Bathroom was bath/shower. Hotel wifi was quick and reliable and was able to stream movies/shows without any issues. Had room service on the first night and service was very quick and food reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in my room rate. Breakfast was very good - usual hot & cold choices. I travelled to/from the hotel using train and metro. Train to/from Schiphol Airport was very quick (about 6 minutes station to station) and cost less than 5 euros each way. Amsterdam Zuid train station is also a metro station. Amsterdam Centraal station didn't seem that far away either, so everything was within easy reach.

We stayed here 4 nights from 30 October to 3 November 2023. Sorry it's taken so long to write this review. I had contacted the hotel about Club Lounge access before I made my initial booking. I was satisfied with the response and booked the best room I could book with IHG points: a King Bed Standard. (4th night free when using points) I noticed soon after that I had been upgraded to a Club Floor Room. When I checked in, I was given Club Lounge access, but the 1st morning, I received a notice from my credit card, that I had been charged 50€. I went to the front desk and was told that even though I am IHG Diamond, I was only given a room on the Club floor, not complimentary lounge access. I said that the lounge wasn't worth that, especially since I chose Breakfast as my IHG Diamond benefit! I was going to cancel my lounge access for the following evenings, but they graciously acknowledged the misunderstanding and comped the access for all 4 nights! Thanks. -------------- My response from Nadia had stated "Located on the second floor, the Club Lounge is a luxurious area where our guests can relax, work and find a bit of quiet outside of their rooms. The Club Lounge offers a variety of snacks and sweets, and beverages (tea, coffee, wine, beer, soft drinks) are at your disposal all day. Moreover, every day from 17:00 till 19:00 we have Happy Hour in the Manhattan Lounge Bar on the ground floor, where our guests with Club Lounge access can enjoy a glass of bubbles and some snacks, such as a serving of the Dutch snack “Bitterballen”. You can also enjoy all the beverages that is offered in the Club Lounge in the bar. Furthermore, Club Lounge access includes breakfast, where you can enjoy our full American breakfast buffet, either in the Club Lounge or in the restaurant on the ground floor, from 06:30 – 10:30 from Monday to Friday, and 07:30 – 11:30 on Saturday, Sunday, and Bank/Public Holidays." ---------------- Any reasonable person would think an upgrade to the Club Floor meant Club Lounge access as it does at most hotels that have lounges. I have earned Lounge access based on 40 IHG stays now and would have complimentary access if I return in 2024! The lounge is not that "luxurious". Breakfast in the lounge is minimal compared to that in the restaurant. The Happy Hour was a big disappointment as what Nadia wrote is literally true-only Bitterballen are offered in the lounge in addition to what is available all day! When I inquired about snacks and drinks at the Manhattan bar, it was for nothing additional-2 Heineken choices-regular and non-alcoholic, 2 cheap wines-one red and one white for alcohol choices. I saw no "bubbly". We didn't have anything at the Manhattan because it was only during those 2 hours and nothing extra plus we would feel obligated to leave a tip! There was no liquor in the lounge, but there were mixers like tonic water? The Bitterballen got old after one evening so we couldn't make a meal out of what was available. When we have lounge access, we prefer to enjoy lunch at a restaurant and then a minimal dinner/snack in the lounge, but Bitterballen just didn't do it for me. In conclusion about the lounge, it's not worth paying extra as it is now. Also, as one of my IHG Diamond perks, I can choose breakfast so the fact that it is included with Lounge Access duplicates that benefit. Access should have been granted to those with status since the lounge access for 40 stays was a new benefit to be earned for the 1st time based on 2023 activity. Now it's in its 2nd year, I can see not giving complimentary access to those with Diamond and Platinum status, but a discounted rate should be offered, especially with the minimal offerings in the lounge, and if one chooses the Breakfast as their Diamond benefit. As far as the Club floor upgrade, our room was on the 2nd floor (3rd in US). The manager claimed that these rooms were larger with higher ceilings. I would prefer a high room with a good view rather than one with only a view of the grounds. I can't imagine a smaller room since the Club floor room was a basic room with bed and bathroom. Bathroom, shower only-no tub, had squeeze bottles for amenities. There was a safe and 2 large closets, but I would expect that in every room. One had to put key in slot for electricity. All went off immediately when card removed, no delay. In conclusion, I was not impressed with room upgrade or lounge issues! The hotel staff tried to make things right. They were all very friendly and welcoming, especially Miku, who checked us in. They need to clarify that "Club Floor" doesn't infer "Club Lounge" access. Breakfast in the restaurant, which costs almost 30€, wasn't worth that much, but good, not great. as one would expect, with several options. Eggs and such were ordered at a window to the right upon entry. Tables were to the left, and the buffet was left and left again from the entrance. We were able to get off to a decent start each day with the options available. In conclusion about our stay, it was average but nothing above and beyond. I did receive 600 welcome points even though I chose breakfast, but I have so many points, I am not impressed with 600 IHG points(about the value of 4€?) The hotel was close enough to the Zuid station for our connection from the airport on arrival and to the Centraal train station on departure plus several trips to/from town with our 72 hour passes, but there wasn't much else near the hotel except for a grocery store and sandwich shop. We stayed at the airport Hilton our final night in Europe on 15 November before flying home and had a much better lounge experience (free access for our Hilton status) even though there were Bitterballen, they also had many other food options plus liquor during their 2 hour happy hour. When we return to Amsterdam, we will probably stay in the city and most likely at the Kimpton, which was a Crowne Plaza when we stayed there 10 years ago. The hotel is clean, the area is safe, the staff are very friendly, but beware of the lounge!

I stayed here for two nights while visiting Amsterdam. First I’d like to commend the staff in the hotel who are the most welcoming, polite and attentive staff. The rooms are quite spacious, and I am very thankful for the gifts left in the room for me, as an IHG member. The food in the bar was very nice, and the service from James and his two colleagues was impeccable. James went out of his way to make us amazing cocktails that we requested which was not on the menu. Cindy on reception was also extremely polite and helpful as was the rest of the receptionists. If only I could remember all of the staff members names to mention them - I would. I will definitely be visiting again!

We had a memorable stay here in 2018 and would have returned sooner, but for Covid... Again this time, the hotel welcomed us with a generous upgrade based on my IHG rewards status. and drinks on the house. The reception teams are highly trained and out to give you a good time, making this a great place to stay. Just one minor drawback was the lack of heating/spare bedding in the room which became colder the second night, so quality of sleep was affected though this is a quiet corner of the city. But we would certainly hope to stay here again on a future visit.

Overall a good stay but the hotel need to do a little more for IHG members. On the positives, the hotel is in a fantastic location, a 5 min walk from Amsterdam Zuid, which means you can catch a train to elsewhere without facing the chaos of Centraal. And it's only 4 or 5 stops to the main attractions and shopping areas. The rooms are clean and comfortable and beds are great. We had a room facing the street at the back, and it was one of the quietest rooms I've ever had in a city centre. The window soundproofing and black out shades are brilliant. Breakfast was adequate, but for the price it lacked choice compared to other hotels. And if there is a coach party staying, then be prepared for queuing and chaos. On the not so good, I contacted the hotel a few days beforehand to request a room with a walk in shower. I was offered one if I paid 75 euros to upgrade the room. So we ended up with a shower bath combo, which was really pretty poor as the shower was on the long side, not the short side, of the bath so was cramped and the shower splashed onto the floor. Funnily enough when we checked in, the person next to us was offered a room upgrade for 45 euros and not what I was quoted. Usually I get complimentary room upgrades anyway but obviously not this time. On check out, we asked for a late checkout to 2.30. We were told we had to have checked out by 2pm or else it would be an additional 20 euros an hour. Really? As a longstanding IHG member I was amazed at that response. Housekeeping was the usual mixed bag....some days it was good, other days they forgot to replace teas, coffee, water or towels. However overall I'd recommend this hotel as it ticks a number of boxes compared to those in central Amsterdam.

This hotel is convenient to Amsterdam Zuid, and likewise to the airport, good connections on the tram and the metro. Despite our elite status, we were given a smaller room up on the 11th Floor (1123). It remains a mystery why they have an Asian themed restaurant as the only restaurant in the building. We chose to eat breakfast at a 'regular' restaurant outside the hotel. As with a previous stay, I asked about getting coffee in the lobby when we left for an early flight, and this is still not offered. I was told we could make coffee in our room; we couldn't figure out how to use the Nespresso. Having stayed here 3 times, we may need to find another hotel on any future trip to Amsterdam.
