Just spent 4 nights at this lovely B & B in Amsterdam. It was very well located; quiet, clean, safe and exceptionally well equipped with obvious attention to little details . Generosities included wine, chocolates, fresh flowers, home baked muffins, bread, cheese and ham, coffee, juice , fruit, jams, cereals, milk and more! Greet is a lively, personable and talented...

Take the no. 13 or 17 tram from Central to Marnistraat, a 5 minute easy walk along the canal and you will see a quaint white wooden bench and no. 91 - the ground level apartment! By some misfortune of double booking which eventually turned into good luck for us, we had the opportunity to stay 2 nites in Amphora...

This beautifully appointed apartment is made even better by the wonderful hospitality of owner/hostess, Greet. Wine on arrival, lovely fresh muffins and bread, and a huge tub of lego for our kids! The apartment is modern and impeccably clean, and the charming neighborhood is close to all the sights. We loved it!

Absolute superb little gem of an apartment situated in a quiet yet central street in Amsterdam. Greet was really helpful and stocked the apartment with coffee, tea, wine, cakes bread, fruit which was great when we arrived. Could walk easily from the Station to museums, Dam Square and just generally explore the surrounding area which was full of quirky local...

We (2 adults and 2 kids) had a great stay at Amphora for a few days in July. Great location and the weather was fantastic as well. Greet and Niels made us feel home and we felt spoiled with all the little Dutch treats they had provided. Lovely and clean place, also the communication was great. I Highly recommend this...

Words hardly capture the gorgeous and well appointed studio apartment that is Amphora B&B. Well located on a canal in the appealing and very walkable Jordaan district, close to everything interesting, the studio is completely equipped, down to the espresso maker, Nutella, fresh bread, fruit and wine, cable, fabulous WiFi. Comfy duvet, pillows, the works! The host could not be...

We loved Amphora for our 3 night stay in July! I think I would have booked it just for the fantastic mosaics in the bathroom and kitchen, but the location was perfect and we walked everywhere. Just 7 min to the Anne Frank House and about 25 to the Rijks Museum. Thanks Greet for the tip to buy Anne Frank...

This was one of the best places we have ever stayed, they go over and above to make you feel welcome. Although its in the city you don't hear any of the outside noise inside the unit. The coffee they provide was fantastic, the only good coffee we had in Europe. I would love to stay here again and definitely...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
