Stayed in the private Tulip Room for two nights in July. The room is located semi-below street level, which means that there is no light and a lot of noise from the traffic and guests coming and going at all hours. Unfortunately, there is also a gigantic ashtray located just outside the window - so while guests won't have the...

This hostel is extremely comfortable and the staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is also great, close to the museum district and market. It is not too big so you meet a bunch of travelers along the way too. If you're looking for something to do the hostel hosts activities every night so you won't be disappointed....

Stayed here for three nights, transferred from a different hostel closer to the RLD. This place was many times better than the place I came from. It felt more like a house than a hotel/hostel, as the staff were incredibly friendly and willing to help (and even went out with us after dark!), the kitchen was well equipped and a...

This hostel is very cute and homely but we found it quite expensive in comparison to other hostels (averaging €50/night). The bunk beds are very private with curtains, plugs and lights for each guest. However, the rooms are very cramped when trying to get changed/move around the room. The staff were great, location was good and the common area was...

We stayed for 2 short nights (not long enough) here on our trip back to Melbourne, and we loved it. We had a private room on the 3rd floor, cosy and comfy with private bathroom and even a tiny kettle. Centrally located near the Albert Cuypmarkt and other interesting spots, but far enough away from the tourist crowds. We had...

Was there for three days. It hust feels like home. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Each room is designed with a particular theme like windmills, cheese, canals. Has a euro wending machine that actually has all the necessities. The living space and the kitchen is well equiped and maintained. N finally the cat adds to the glitter.

Calm and quiet hostel in a perfect location nearby almost any interesting sight (Amsterdam is small in terms of points of interest :) ). A very charming and helpful group of staff people (like many people who live in Amsterdam :D ) are willing always to help you and make your stay as cool as possible. The staff i got...

I stayed at Cocomama for 3 nights while visiting Amsterdam. Since I was traveling alone, and I hadn't stayed at a hostel before, more so in a mixed dorm, I was a little apprehensive. But the place was beautiful. It was very well decorated, clean and the staff was extremely friendly. There's a very well decorated living room, a kitchen...

Super cute place in a nice location close to museums and away from all the tourist but close walk or tram ride into the middle of everything. Very unique and cozy hostel with lovely staff. Loved the family night dinner for 3 euros! Definitely not a party place but it was a relaxing quiet place to come home to after...

We stayed in a Four Person Dorm while here and the beds were the best out of all the hostels we stayed in during our trip. It really felt like sleeping on a cloud. The staff was wonderful and all spoke English. The hostel cat, Joop, is super friendly and always willing to cuddle. I would definitely recommend this place...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cocomama offers the best of both worlds in a super central location in Amsterdam. The luxury and comfort of a hotel and the atmosphere (and budget) of a hostel. The rooms are all Holland themed and range from private doubles to 6-bed dorms (and everything in between). You might share a bathroom in some of the dorms, but those luxurious mattresses and feather duvets are everywhere. Even more importantly, at MAMA, you're not on your own. Travel stories are shared, as is the dinner table. It's a place where you'll make friends and hang out with other international trotters alike in the private garden, living room, cinema, or cook dinner in the fully-equipped kitchen (perfect to keep costs down). And if that doesn't keep you busy enough, the staff organises tons of activities, and Joop (the adorable house cat, a.k.a. man of the house), is there to get cuddled 24/7 too. ... more   less
