This is not really a hotel. No reception, porters, or elevator. Nice quiet neighborhood, but hard to find. Biggest complaint was the steep, narrow staircase, up three flights. If you have luggage (we didn't as it was only for an overnight), it would have been really nasty. The room however was excellent. Very modern, well fitted, spacious and beautiful. The... More

Private, comfortable, well located, quiet, in fact we hardly saw any people coming in or out of the facility. We were very happy to be staying there, it felt like home. The Superior Suite 2b was very comfortable, high ceilings, proper restroom. The only thing that was missing was a drawer to accomodate our close as we were staying for... More

Although one might be hesitant at first because of the lack of reception and human contact (except for the very nice cleaning lady), AMS is very good value as rooms (or suites) are very large compared to what one might expect in amsterdam and at these prices; we loved the location, in the great jordaan area and the building is... My bf and I stayed at Ams Suite for the weekend. It was a little difficult to find as there isn't a big sign displaying the name of the place. Look out for the tulip on the door! Other than that, I couldn't fault the place. It's located in a great neighbourhood. Quiet but not too far from central. We... More

We stayed in the AMS Suites for three nights and had an excellent time. The rooms are beautifully appointed and designed. Bed was really comfy and you can't really ask for a much better location (the apartment not the bed). I was very pleased with my booking and it was a huge part of making our stay fantastic.

We stayed at the Ams Suites for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday and wedding anniversary. When we arrived there was a bottle of bubbly and a welcome card, a very nice touch. We found the suites very easily from the directions sent to us and had no problem using the keyless entry system. It was very easy to... More

We stayed at this lovely neighbourhood for 3 nights and was very happy with the hotel. However, it was a little disappointing to note that towels were not ready after we checked in (no hotel staff. Just pin code to access your rooms). Room service did forget to prepare or change new toiletries which bothered me but otherwise not a... More

Yes, the stairs! Our driver was able to find the location but not without assist from passersby, and dropped us off at a door marked only by a tulip and a keypad. After entering the code we opened the door and were astounded by how steep and narrow the stairs were! We were sailing from Amsterdam on a cruise and... More

Wonderful little hotel but the stairs!!!!! We had a room on the 3rd floor, typical canal house, very steep stairs. We managed fine but anyone with issues with stairs will not cope well. We requested an extra chair and they immediately provided it. We pointed out a couple of bulbs were off and they fixed immediately. Really nice spacious room,... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
