This stunning hotel is very well located. The rooms are beautifull. Service is the best thanks to the very dedicated and super friendly staff. Don't miss out on the food as both restaurants, OCCO and Vinkeles (*), serve fantastic meals. Vinkeles is high end, but definitely worth it. Very special culinary experience!

We had such a fabulous stay at The Dylan! It was one big heartwarming experience. From the moment we made the booking until the checkout, all super friendly Dylan colleagues gave us the same warm and welcoming feeling. What a great team of people! And what a tasteful hotel this is. Our Luxury Double Room 14 was fantastic - and what a view on the courtyard! The atmosphere of the perfectly maintained hotel is wonderfully intimate, the cuisine is absolutely exquisite, we feasted on the sublime dishes of the high wine and dinner. And Sunday afternoon we ended our stay with another delicious lunch. With such a great chef and kitchen brigade, The Dylan distinguishes itself so clearly from other hotels. We were indulged the entire stay. We had a superb weekend with all kinds of thoughtful gestures, we really feel at home in The Dylan and will come back for Christmas!

We stayed here this weekend as part of a staycation in our home town of Amsterdam. So it was combined with a dinner at Vinkeles (which was awesome! But will put that in a different review) and a stay in one of the deluxe rooms. We stayed in room 5. The check in was already done online before we arrived so only needed to check ID and creditcard. The welcome was warm and friendly with a nice cup of warm tea. The hostess accompanied us to our room. Great start of the staycation! The room has a very cosy decor. The bed is huge and high and looks very comforting. After a nights sleep it also sleeps great! The room has a good size with some comfortable seating. Great Illy coffee machine and a bose sound system. At first view it looks very comfortable and luxurious, but with a 5* hotel in this price range I also look to the details and I expect them to be at least very good too. But a shower in the bathtub? Also temperature was varying very much. When going to the bathroom during the night you had to witch on the light in the whole bathroom (which is 1/3 of the total room and not seperated from the room) so the other would wake up. Almost no free powersockets. I understand its an old building, but there are solutions for these issues. I know they are minor, but again its in the details in this kind of hotel. We had a fabulous dinner and Vinkeles and staff was really nice and informative. Really a highlight! So we went to bed but unfortunately we were woken up at 5:45 bij staff who started preparing the breakfast in the bar/brasserie (its right below room 5) and were throwing the chairs around (thats how it sounded). Also from about 7 am the music was switched on and we could hear that clearly continuous in our room. Again the details.... Breakfast was good quality. The french toast was tasty and well prepared and the omelette was good. Fresh orange juice. But to be honest I found the choice very limited. also no options for omelette or something like sausage. It was just average. And then check out. It was all about payment....and then Bye. Never the question: How was your stay? That was really a big disappointment. Of the 300 nights I stay in hotels per year it is maybe asked in 50% of the cases, but in a hotel like this I really expect this question, because I expect also that they keep up to date and try to improve themselves. Its in the details and you only know the details when you ask your guest and learn from them. Also I prefer to share these issues in private so I can give a 100% positive review and leave as a happy guest. So all in all this hotel experience was not more than average for us. Its not bad, but also not good. Its in the details.
