5 Star experience. This unassuming little hotel is fantastic in every way. Extremely well appointed down to every detail. The service was brilliant and the atmosphere was perfect. Old fashioned bar with bartenders who know what they are doing. The very large internal courtyard is perfect for relaxing and very unusual for Amsterdam. No…it’s not a big American style hotel and that’s what makes it great, it is a quaint 5 star boutique hotel with luxury everything. You are located in a quiet canal surrounded by real homes.
Top hotel in great location. Very helpful staff from reservations to front door staff to front desk staff to the concierge. Friendly and helpful information about Amsterdam. Assistance with reservations in difficult to get into restaurants. Handled air conditioning breakdown with efficiency and diplomacy. Bathrooms are a little weirdly designed but rooms are very well appointed and comfortable. Coffee in the courtyard after arriving jetlagged was a lifesaver.
Excellence from the moment we stepped on the property till the moment we left. The customer service was the best…from all departments in the hotel we happened to came in contact. As we are sharing our stories of Amsterdam with our family and friends, The stay at the Dylan, happens to be one of the highlights. Thank you to Renee, Peter, and the Occo staff. Highest Regards from Rob and Michelle.
This is a superb luxury property anyone would be thrilled to stay at. While we were there only two brief nights, we would have happily stayed much, much longer. The staff was welcoming, attentive, extremely helpful and very pleasant. There were no negatives of any kind during our visit. The room we had was a loft, with an extremely comfortable bed upstairs and a comfortable and inviting downstairs (main floor) area. The bathroom was large and well equipped. Separate commode area, fantastic shower and large tub comfortable for two. Would I return here? No hesitation. I’d return here as often as possible.
The welcome. The room. The staff. The cleanliness. The breakfast. The bar. The restaurant. The location. From every perspective, our stay here could not have possibly been better. And Uki (spelling?), our concierge, was charming, helpful, knowledgeable and, most of all, someone you would love to have as a friend. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.
I cannot rate The Dylan highly enough. From the moment we arrived we experienced exceptional service. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, making our entire stay comfortable and easy. We had requested a quiet room with a shower, and enjoyed exactly that. Beautiful large windows overlooking the courtyard and a very nice bathroom with heated tile floors made our recovery from jet lag very pleasant. The staff can help with activities, dinner reservations, transportation and more. The restaurant and bar/lounge is a great place to take a break from the bustling city and enjoy an exceptional cocktail or coffee. I am a tea drinker and the looseleaf tea service was maybe my favorite thing about our stay. If you are looking for a comfortable base for exploring the city, in a great neighborhood, and with first class service, the Dylan is for you!…
Top, top, top service. I checked in with my sister and BIL. They showed us her room first and it was so luxurious. We were second but were disappointed with our room , which was in the more modern section. The next morning I mentioned it to Renee at the front desk, and by the time we came back fro a morning tour, she had a new room in the older section ready for us to change to. She even helped me carry my luggage. The bar/ cafe area is so cozy, cool and luxurious. We had a delicious light dinner there one night. Turn down service comes with a fresh bottle of water and a sweet treat. Our window was stuck open one evening, and the front desk clerk came right up and solved the problem. Honestly, every member of the staff has a genuine smile on their face , always. They seem happy to help with everything. It was a complete delight to stay there, the location could not be better, steps from wonderful shops and cafes. We are in love with Amsterdam. What a dynamic city. Every single person, from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left seemed genuinely happy to be doing their job. How refreshing. Suggestion, ask for a room in the older section. One downer for my sister was that they opened their window at night, and smoke from the courtyard smokers was constantly wafting up to their room.…
A magical trip to The Dylan! I combined business and pleasure on a solo trip to this wonderful hotel. I arrived early morning after an overnight flight and Michael (concierge) was already waiting outside the hotel to greet me, what a nice touch! Rene (hotel manager) had a cup of tea and muffin at the ready, while she completed my check-in. It was welcoming and made me feel completely at home. For the next week, Rowald, Martin, Jouke, and Kanin were consistently attentive, caring and delightful, during my solo dining (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The food was extraordinary and the accommodations perfect. The Dylan felt like a home away from home, elegant and understated. The location was perfect with a neighborhood feel, and I was extremely comfortable during my solo strolling during the evenings. Joeki (concierge) helped to plan an evening for my niece and arranged a special very Dutch meal at his friend’s restaurant. What a treat! I will most certainly stay again, when I visit Amsterdam. I have traveled the world quite extensively and this was one of my best experiences.…
Lovely, caring staff - faultless. A lovely room and a comfortable bed. The ambiance here is special, the lighting is soothing and the surroundings quite luxurious. Food is at top Amsterdam prices - it isn't an economical choice - napkins are starched and everything feels lovely without being pompous. Food is delicious and a treat. Guests shouldn't complain about prices - there are many other reasonable eateries in Amsterdam. The Dylan isn't cheap so I believe they could supply the room with more than one, meagre, classic hotel mini-square of soap. I would also like to see a box of tissues in the bedroom, not just the bathroom. Easy fixes for a hotel of this calibre. And two knocks for room service early evening could be made just one - turn down and water all in one move, rather than answering the door twice during siesta time! These tweaks aside - a lovely stay.…
I stayed three nights in mid March 2022. I booked through Amex FHR. While a room upgrade was not available, I was able to check in about 90 minutes before the official check in time. All of the staff (from reception, concierge, breakfast, and housekeeping) were friendly and made the stay even better. Nightly turn-down service was fantastic with a new treat each evening. The room was luxurious and modern (with A/C that worked very well). While my rate included breakfast through Amex, the breakfast was a very limited continental offering. My only three suggestions for improvement would be 1) providing a more robust breakfast for rates that include it, 2) having housekeeping refresh the water bottles in the morning and not just at evening turn-down, and 3) replacing the rain head showers with a newer model (while the water pressure was great with the sink faucet and bathtub, the rain head shower in the bathroom in room 38 was very weak). In any event, I would not hesitate to stay again when in Amsterdam next!…
