This charming hotel is almost like a bed and breakfast in that it has a limited number of rooms and you feel like you're sharing the experience with everyone who is there. It's rather cozy and the lobby bar doubles as the front desk! It's...More
We were wowed by the luxuriously appointed purple room at the Canal House. The paintings felt artistic, modern yet royal, with the room clad in purple. The best part was the canal view. With the windows open in the morning and sunshine streaming in, it...More
We rolled into Amsterdam with a couple of B&B and hotels to check into on a rainy night. We struck out with the first two as they were already filled. The Canal house was our last stop and luckily they had a room for us...More
Since Amsterdam was our jumping off point for our family vacation, we visited it twice (at the start and end of our trip). The first hotel we stayed in was excellent (funky, modern, spacious rooms, lovely service). Unfortunately, because the reviews in this site indicated...More
Such a beautiful hotel, and so contemporary. The hotel was set alongside the Canal network in Amsterdam, among the local Cafe's and Bistro's.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws
include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.

They do have larger rooms, if you look at the descriptions online. However, from experience I would be very careful as the spaces don't quite work out as stated and the bathing arrangements can be a bit eccentric. It's a beautiful place and there is a lounge area where you can sit, but I would recommend that you are ultra careful with the descriptions. Hope this is useful
