On the plus side the price is reasonable for being Amsterdam and it is close to the big Vondel Park. There are also tram stops close by to get to other parts of the city. And you will need the tram, or good walking shoes. It is 30 minuters by tram, an hour by foot, to get to the Central station. The room was tiny, so tiny that there was not space for a chair, just the bed and a small table. In the bathroom one of two lights didn't work and the soaps were mixed up with shower gel by the washbasin and hand soap in the shower. You just get a sense that nobody cares. If you expect a 2-star hotel then this will work.

Volendam Park is crossing the street; so the location Is good; you need to use the tram to reach the main places in Amsterdam. Hotel is a tiny but enough; they offer cleaning room service on a daily basis; they give you clean towels and liquid soap. Elevator is very tiny also; because the hotel by itself isn’t big. The hotel is comfortable and good if you are traveling with your significant other. Best, Héctor CH

I am traveling to so many different countries and mostly stay at 3 and4 stars hotels, this hotel has 3 stars but i give it 1 star. 1.very soft matrass that you sink in it, my husband slept hardly as he got backpain. They put two very soft matress on top of eachother. 2.thin walls. My neighbors came very late at night and they were nonstop talking for long time and i could hear them and understand what are they doing exactly.so I coudnt sleep for long time too. 3.breakfast dosent have brown bread.it s important for some poeple 4.the brush for cleaning toilet was full of brown water, disgusting . 5.the plastic glasses in toilet were all broken. I m wondering how it got 3 stars . Waste of money

Me and my boyfriend stayed here at the end of march, Monday to Friday. No complaints! The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was nice and warm. Everything was clean and I would happily go back! 😊 Nice neighbourhood, nice and quiet. The room we had was 305, had a suprise balcony that we didn't know we had till we arrived. Lovely view of the park.

We chose this hotel for our honeymoon trip. We booked it well in advance and as the trip came closer I started worrying about our choice as I saw the bad reviews on this hotel to keep piling up on TripAdvisor. I am so glad we didn't change our booking and visited Central Park Hotel after all! Arriving at the hotel late at night we were met by an extremely friendly and polite receptionist who was eager to assist us by giving us a very nice room - as the reservations department disregarded that request and the "honeymooners" note. So we were given Room 406 , a room at the top floor , spacious with excellent views at the nearby Vondelpark. The room was large and very light , with windows running in all the length of the wall , very clean and warm. Yes, the carpet had a chlorine discoloration in front of the bathroom door, but it was soft, fluffy and very clean! So who cares if the cleaning lady had a small accident while cleaning? (just noting this as another commenter complained for the state of the carpet and it was of the things that made me think twice before coming to the hotel!) Yes, the windows could use a fresh hand of paint as they are made of wood and it is chiped at places. But they work well, they keep all the humidity and cold out and -again- they were really clean! (again, comparing my experience with other noted complaints) The bathroom was small but adequate , SPOTLESS clean, filled with natural light from the window, the towels were changed EVERY DAY and the hair drier is one of the strong ones (comparing hotel hair driers that is... ) The room was cleaned every day, and the cleaning lady was always very polite. The bed...OH,THE BED!! if you like soft mattresses you will LOVE it! The most comfortable, most soft, cosy mattress I've ever slept on. I wanted to take it home with me! If you like firm mattresses or if you MUST use firm mattresses then these beds are not for you! I loved it, but I imagine that someone with a back problem that needs to sleep on a very firm bed will not enjoy this! The breakfast had variety, offered both sweet and savory options, including hard boiled eggs , 2-3 choices of ham, yogurt , freshly baked mini croissants, warm toast , jams and chocolate spread etc. Good strong coffee and a small variety of juices. The stuff was always polite and friendly, very helpful and eager to give us information and suggestions. And at one morning, when the lady responsible for the breakfast had an accidental delay , the receptionist managed to juggle both the reception and the breakfast excellently! The location is great! Right beside Vondelpark -which is a lovely place to take walks or ride your bike. It is very close to tram line 2 which brings you straight to Amsterdam center in about 20 minutes, where all the attractions are. The area is residential and on the "wealthy" side (at least judging by the wonderful houses surrounding the hotel and the variety of luxurious cars parked along the street outside). A very safe and quiet neighborhood! So in general , this is a 3+ star hotel, it's what 3 star hotels SHOULD be, we loved our stay and will definitely, DEFINITELY visit it again! Thank you Central Park for making our honeymoon such a great experience!
