Perfectly located in de neighbourhood '9 straatjes'; Anne Frank House is around the corner and it's quite easy to get to the highlights in the city. Lovely area to explore. Beautiful interior is an eclectic mux of Art Deci, Mid Century, Hollywood Regency elegance and contemporary style; very nicely put together and presented. The room we had was basic and equipped with a good size shower, a comfortable bed and a coffee-tea maker. They serve a very nice breakfast; good value for your money and the staff is very friendly. We only stayed for one night and we will definitely be staying here again when we're visiting Amsterdam next time. Very charming and full of character.
We stayed one night at Hotel Mercier and just loved it! Great interior, stylish rooms, warm, clean and very friendly staff. Perfect location in the heart of Amsterdam. Cannot wait to stay there again next time I am in Amsterdam!
+ Clean room + nicely decorated + quiet + marshall bluetooth speaker in the room - when we checked in the room, there was no shampoo in the bathroom. Had to ask to have it refilled. This should have been chrcked before the guest checked in - the bed in the room where we stayed actually consist of 2 single beds put together. This is really annoying as it moved and I kept falling in between - the paintings and wall decorations in the room are dusty - no refrigerator in the room
The hotel's atmosphere is classic and elegant, and the staff friendly and accommodating. When we got to the room, however, we were soon disappointed. We had the comfort double, which we didn't find all that comfortable at all. The room felt very cramped, there is no closet to put your suitcase or clothing, there's no table to sit at or chairs, so we only had the bed to sit on. The water pressure in the shower was lacking, and the temperature of the water, though possibly fine for a lot of people, we also found to be too low even at the highest setting. With so many other excellent options in the city to choose from, it's hard to justify coming back.
I booked a Comfort Double Room during the lockdown to spend a few nights during the renovation of our apartment. I didn't choose the cheapest option so I expected a little more. The first room didn't meet my requirements - I needed a table and chair to be able to work. Luckily the frontdesk staff quickly moved us to another room, more suitable for me to work. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable but very dark, especially in the toilet where we had to use a flashlight. I missed a mini fridge and the water pressure of the shower could use some improvement. Due to Covid19 regulations the breakfast was served to the room in a small paper-bag. I can't blame them for that but it was very basic (a fresh croissant, yoghurt and fruit). I do assume that the breakfast options will be more extensive when the restrictions will be lifted. The hotel staff was friendly and professional. Thanks for the complimentary bottle of wine!…
