My boyfriend and I stayed here last December for a short break. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was - massive bed, lovely bathroom and decor. Room service/cleaners came each day which was a nice touch. The hotel is just outside of the city centre which we found great, staff at reception helped us buy tram tickets into the city centre which were only around €16 each for 3/4 days. Overall a lovely hotel and a lovely stay. Would recommend.
SO my wife and I booked an impromptu weekend away to Amsterdam to escape the Covid madness in the UK. After looking at all of the options online I finally settled for a stay at the Westcord fashion hotel due to the amazing looking rooms on their site. Once we arrived we were met by very friendly and helpful staff who booked us in and showed us to our room on the 4th floor. I had booked the executive double and I would highly recommend others do the same, the room was simply brilliant. I can honestly say one of the best I have stayed in. The bath / shower drip with elegance and scream luxury. It is slightly off putting that there is a large window between the bathroom and main room but it does at to the character of the room. We sampled the onsite restaurant which again was excellent, the prices were reasonable and the food was of high quality. I would definitely recommend the brisket! The sky bar was simply stunning on an evening and the service was friendly and relaxed. The tram station is only 5 minutes walk away from the hotel with the tram taking 10 minutes to reach Dam square. I have to say keeping with most European cities the tram itself was faultless, it was clean, quick and the staff were friendly. My only issue was that a large group of younger party goers had been placed across from us on our last night. I had to call reception 3 times due to their anti-social behaviour and noise. To the hotel's credit staff attended each time and warned the other residents in a quick manner ultimately resulting in the removal of half of the party. I have to stress that the hotel were excellent when dealing with this and definitely had our best interests on their minds. To follow up on this the hotel offered my wife and I compensation for the disturbed night that we suffered, this was highly appreciated. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel if you want a high quality room and normal prices.…
My husband and I went to Amsterdam for a few days and stayed 1 night in this hotel. Overall it is a cool hotel with mannequins here and there. The room was nice and clean and they had a nespresso machine in our room which you could use for free. That was a pleasant surprise. The bathroom is big and cozy. I would say, though, that it is a bit weird with the whole see-through glass door. It was really uncomfortable and not pleasant to go to the bathroom like this. I read a reply to a review here that said they do have rooms with "normal" bathroom doors so maybe ask for that before booking a room - unless you are into watching your other half on the can! The parking is also expensive even though you are a guest, that was a bit weird. The staff was nice and helpful.
Quite cozy fashion hotel with nice rooms and breakfast. A bit far from the city center, but we were aware about that, just used uber for comfort. Very nice roof top bar. In general, the hotel is recommended for weekend getaway.
In light of the recent coronavirus pandemic I am no longer able to keep my booking. Not only is Amsterdam on lockdown the FCO advise against all but essential travel from the UK. I approached the hotel and pleaded for a refund given the circumstances as most other respectful hotel chains are offering this with no questions asked. I was met with a hard no and an obnoxious comment about claiming off my travel insurance and that this wasn't a significant event. Unfortunately, my travel insurance doesn't extend to give cover for travel interruption and if this isn't an exceptional circumstance I dread to think what is. I am now massively out of pocket- thanks Westcord! This hotel is heartless and has a complete lack of compassion. Clearly, money means more to this hotel than people do and the irresponsible attitude of putting business over safety is disgusting. I would warn others to think twice before booking here!…
