Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Usually, I have no time to write reviews, but this time, it's my duty to warn guests, which take care of their health. I've booked two non-smoking rooms and made full pre-payment for me and my family in this Hotel. At the first day of our staying, I've discovered, that both our rooms were rooms for smoking guests. For me, health of my family is prioritised, especially because one of them is asthmatic. That's why this situation was important for me. I've tried to solve this problem immediately, but faced with unusual result. Hotel staff explained me, that there is no possibility to change my rooms for non-smoking rooms, because there are no such rooms in this Hotel. I called Booking.com company, which were used to make a reservation for two non-smoking rooms and Booking.com confirmed, that this Hotel have no non-smoking rooms. I consider this as a serious violation of my rights and absolutely unacceptable. As an excuse for this, the hotel staff claims that they have a good ventilation system. I am an architect and such an excuse does not suit me. I wouldn't recommend this Hotel for the guests, which are truly care of their health.

I stayed in this hotel from October 24 - October 29, 2019. The first impression I had was how welcoming and friendly the staff was. After check in, I was amazed by how luxurious the suite was, the incredible view into Dam Square from my room, and the location was perfect. At check out, I had a problem with my limo driver, he did not want to come in front of the hotel, he wanted me to go around the corner with mt bags. The wonderful receptionist who checked me out (Natalie), came out with me to the street and got into an argument with the limo driver and put me into another limo from the hotel to take me to the airport. She has went abode and beyond her duties and that is why I will always return to this hotel, for the great service.

Everything the staff did was very well planned and practiced to provide an outstanding service to their customers. From the helpful emails assisting me in reserving the correct room for my preference, assisting me with a limo service to and from the airport, check-in and concierge services, the butler explaining everything to us about the room and his availability, turn-down service, restaurant and their staff, and even check-out at an early time, it was well planned, and easy as possible for us. Here are some examples; 1. The limosine driver met us at the airport with our names on an iPad and escorted us to the street-side Mercedes and brought my wife's luggage. He was so very professional and asked if it was ok for him to place a call while driving to the hotel to assure they were ready for our arrival. 2. The staff upon arrival brought our luggage from the limo to the room before we even began check-in. 3. The check-in staff knew who we were, how long we were staying and what room we were in. They were friendly and very welcoming! 4. The butler escorted us to the room and provided us with details operating instructions of the lighting, electronics, and even the operation of the Turkish Steam bath (I might need one of these now). 5. The restaurant was exceptional and the waitress was so cheerful and wonderful in spite of what we could hear about some guests who simply could not be pleased no matter what she did. They really seemed to enjoy being grumpy but the waitress fulfilled all of their needs with a smile. 6. Turn down service was perfect and punctual each night. 7. The room was amazing! Facing the dam square. Stocked with exceptional beverages (which was refilled sharply by the butler upon request). The bed was fantastic. The decor was awesome and warm. The windows provided such a sound proofing that when we opened them, we couldn't believe how much noise they were keeping out. Really quite an exceptional hotel. I've paid more than double this in other European large cities for less service and less style. Twenty Seven is where I will stay every time I am in Amsterdam.

Apologies for taking so long to write this review. As SLH hotel owners ourselves and understanding what it takes to have a top hotel and then to win hotel of the year we were truly impressed. The rooms are incredibly spacious, well appointed and want for nothing. All of the staff were spot on and our butler was very helpful. Not only were the staff incredibly professional but at the same time very personal. From the first minute of my inquiring about a room (literally within minutes I was contacted) to even after the departure, the contact from the hotel has been the best I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. And we travel a lot. The restaurant was fabulous and the bar and entertainment was truly the best. Luckily for us we coincidentally, personally knew the singer. Bravo. Oh and the upgrade was very much appreciated! Magnificent room. Well done Twenty Seven. We were more than suitably impressed and if back in Amsterdam we would not stay anywhere else. Keep up the brilliant work, our favorite hôtel to date!!
