Booked the hotel back in January for three nights in June. The hotel cancelled on me TWO DAYS out and then when I called up 30 mins later to re-secure the booking they said they room had gone from £300 to £900! Staff claimed it was against their policy to rebook after a cancellation but that's ridiculous and THEY CANCELLED ON ME. Staff were awful when I tried to resolve the situation. You need to be able to trust the bookings you make and that's why this was so poor, especially as I'd had it for 5 months! Go elsewhere.

It’s a decent hotel, and would get a 3.5 if that was an option. I’m afraid it’s not good enough to get a 4. It’s in a very good location close to the metro which takes you into the city centre in about 15 minutes. The staff are friendly and helpful. My big issue was a stain on the duvet, which was probably old but didn’t look appealing. If it wasn’t for that it would have been a good 4. Noisy outside due to smokers, but I can’t mark them down for that.

Firstly, the breakfast. One star worthy. The bacon was barely edible; its genuinely difficult to make bacon that bad. Freezing cold too, as were the totally unseasoned scrambled eggs. Don't be a fool and go get breakfast in the city instead. The rooms are quite nice, modern and comfy. Although the shower is the weirdest build ever. The screen is tiny and doesn't come out far enough so the whole bathroom gets completely soaked every time you have a shower. Just very strange. Decent location, a walk away from the JC Arena with easy travel into the centre. Perfectly nice staff. Shoutout to the cleaners who always did a great job and cleaned reguarly. €2 for a machine-made hot drink is a bit embarrassing. If you stay here with the intention of sleeping on your bed and not spending a minute inside the hotel itself, you'll be alright. Go explore, spend as little time in the hotel as possible, and you'll have a great trip.

Well, what to say... A disapointment certainly... I came to this hotel I don't know how many times and was always happy about it, but since last time (July 2020) it seems many things have changed... I came this august for 12 nights, the air conditioner wasn't working in the room and when asked about it the reception said they'd manage it, which they didn't, I so had to try by myself to somehow fix it, unsuccessful... And as I saw on a few comments here I also had stains on the towels, many for some, and also holes in some, like 2-3cm holes.... And on the last night I also crossed the way of 2 bugs in the room in the middle of the night, maybe not a big surprise according that during those 12 days when the room was "made" daily, they never used vacuum cleaner... I used to be very satisfied by this hotel but unfortunately this time wasn't good, at all... I hope for them it's "just" an accident, but on 12 nights I've doubts... Otherwise the reception service was friendly and welcoming.

Worst experience ever. We booked a room, and it was a nightmare. Broken furniture, stains on the bed, living insects. We decided not to stay. They refused to refund price for 1 night, 87 euros. We were trying to solve situation with booking.com where booking was done, they just passed the solution from the property management.

I stayed at Joy hotel on business. The rooms are small but very well designed, you don't notice the size. Everything was clean and modern, the hotel seemed almost newly built. The service was good, I checked in fairly late and it was quick and easy, though being told "please don't use drugs in the hotel" I found somewhat insulting, but it's Amsterdam at the end of the day. At around 10PM I was a little hungry so decided to try to find some food, the hotel has vending machines in the lobby, although they have two machines, they both have the exact same selections, pointlesss IMHO. There selection of snacks on offer doesn't rival other 3 star hotels in Amsterdam. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you are planning on a late night case of the munchies. Also, the machines only take cash, It's almost 2020 and virtually every vending machine these days takes contactless payment. There is also NO ATM NEARBY, you need to take the metro to the stadium at the next stop walk to the ATM and get the metro back, not something I wanted to do after a long day. So I resorted to ordering some food on Deliveroo; there are three 24hr takeaways nearby which was handy but expect to pay at least 20 quid. Transport wise, it's not too bad. You can take a direct metro 54 (IIRC) to Centraal, or change at Amstel and take the tram if you want a particular location. Travel time is around 30 minutes. 24hr travel card is 8 quid. All in all I would probably stay here again, though not my first preference.

This hotel experience can be summed up with three examples ... 1. The Guest Guidelines, that piece of paper that you get when you arrive, contains the normal information, breakfast at 7, parking arrangements, etc, and surprisingly a request that in addition to not smoking in the room that you don't use Nitrous Oxide either. (That is a new piece of information on a welcome sheet, and begs the question - who normally stays there?) 2. A conversation with the Reception staff. Customer - "There is only tea in the room, someone forgot to leave any coffee". Reception - "No mistake, the owner wants this to be a three star hotel. There is a coffee machine in reception, and it's €2 per cup" 3. The Air Conditioning is turned off. The heating is turned up. The hotel is on the flight path for Schiphol. So, the only way to get a good night's sleep in a cool room, is to open the window, and hope that the planes are quiet. I've given this hotel 2 out of 5, as they are cheap; want to be three star; and hit that objective.

Clean rooms, outstanding service and fair pricing. Stayed with my girlfriend. Close proximity to a train station. Mcdonalds right around the block. Parking was easy and they let us park the whole day even though we checked out in the morning. This allowed us to have a one more day visiting things around town.

Stayed here with my husband. This hotel is quite far out from city centre!!! Very close to the metro station(about 4 min walk) but 20 mins from there to central station on metro. Rooms small but very clean. Bed extremely comfortable. No additional bits in hotel. Tea/coffee facilities but no milk or water provided. No little toiletries provided. Shower gel in dispenser on the wall, same as hand soap!!! I requested shower cap but none available. Rooms well serviced daily. However no additional toilet roll given. Meaning we ran out on our last morning!!! Very basic. Bar closed by 11.30-12.00 every night. Tea/coffee vending machine and treats and drinks machine in reception. Not suitable for people that like to return to hotel for a while during the day!!!! Not possible as out too far. However we found it did the job but would not stay here again mainly due to distance. Continental breakfast available for €12.50 but we did not avail of this. Staff were pleasant.

Turned up and parking was tight, but we got in. Staff at reception were very helpful and polite. The room was a good size, family three beds and a nice bathroom. Quiet and comfortable stay and local to the metro, a short walk. 13mins into central Amsterdam 48hr pass €43 for three adults. IKEA is around the corner for food on arrival for our first night. Very pleasant stay, would highly recommend.
