Arrived for a three night stay to discover the lobby was up 4 very narrow steep stairs. Got the luggage up only to discover that our rooms were in the building next door and up the same 4 steep stairs...after that all was well. Thankfully there is an elevator to get to the rooms. Breakfast OK - not included in...

We stayed for 3 nights and were at the back of the hotel by request. Quite, clean and very friendly. Breakfast was adequate. The situation was handy for the centre of Amsterdam once you got used to the map. Trams, and hop on hop off bus quite close by. Fully recommend would stay again

I was very impressed with this hotel, the room was very clean, the staff friendly and helpful. We stayed for three nights and did not have any noise problems. Breakfast is basic but plentiful and available from 7 to 10am. The best thing for me was the lift (not mentioned on the website) Dutch stairs are steep and I didn't...

The first night we stayed at the hotel allure it was ok and first impressions were good until the followin morning building work had started on some of the rooms above which meant it was like staying on a building site.

Very happy with Hotel Allure, stayed here for 3 nights. It was quite expensive, but everywhere was the same price. The hotel is lovely, small but clean and well presented. The tram and subway are on the doorstep, so no hassle at all getting from the airport. The balcony room overlooking the street was perfect, and a great size. A...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
