stayed here for four nights earlier this year with one of my family members. we had a great time, staff were really helpful and the multilingual manager was an amazing guy. sometimes after a long tiring day of being a tourist, it was great to go back to the hotel and just chill out and chat with the manager (who... We stayed at the Liberty for 2 nights on our arrival to Amsterdam. My friend originally made a "pay later" booking via bookings.com approximately 6 months in advance, which less than a week prior to arrival the booking was cancelled. So I booked the property with instant payment. We arrived at around 8am in the morning, and made contact regarding... More

Location of this 'hotel' is the only good point, and what earns it the 1 star given. Bad points (which seem to feature a lot in the other negative reviews on here) include: - TINY shared bathroom (only 2 for the whole place) - Stairs are horrendous - we are a young and agile couple and we struggled (especially with... Stayed here for 3 nights. Was basic but this is to be expected from a budget hotel. Very central location, shops, cafes and bars just around the corner. Free wifi, comfy beds and yummy complimentary breakfast. We were able to use the communal kitchen to store food and drink and to make a bite to eat in the evening, microwave... More

We arrived at this place a bit earlier than the usual check in time, but the owner of the place was a pleasant lady who let us check in earlier. It is situated like a 5 minutes walk from the centre of the town, everything quiet easily reachable. The room was clean and there was a communal kitchen where in you... More

Its cheap. Thtats bout it. The building is kinda tilted to one side, wich makes sleeping in a bed on the top floor a very strange and unpleasent expierence. Bathrooms are super small. You can smoke anywhere in the hotel. There are just 2 small tables so breakfast will be mostly ocupied get up very early if you want something... More

Stayed for 3 nights and was just we needed. You pay for what you get, great location, shower facilities were better than expected, room was spacious enough for 2 and the staff were welcoming. Breakfast was lovely and would definitely recommend.

This is a perfect little place to stay if your in Amsterdam for a couple of days. Far enough away from the madness of the red light district, but still close enough to walk to everything. The hospitality was very welcoming, the lady there was very friendly and laid back. We left our luggage in the communal area for two... More

Whatever you do, don't waste your time with this place. The owners/workers are terrible, they could not care less about their guests. After we made our booking they told us all of a sudden that we couldn't check in after 8pm!?!? We couldn't arrive there from the airport any earlier!!! The woman was very rude and loud mouthed.... Terrible experience.... More

I am sorry if you thought the receptionist on the phone was rude but to my knowledge I understand that you were screaming, swearing and making threats on the phone after you had received a message via email saying that check in was not possible after 20:00pm. Your reservation was made via Booking.com on the 11th March, 2016 for the... More

We stayed recently in the hotel, staff were friendly and we got what we paid for, it was so loud on one or two occasions at night but this was due to the other guests and not the staff, Breakfast was good you had a good option and they offered a cooked breakfast. Main downside was the shower facilities, just... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
