Where else to sleep in Amsterdam than on an house boat? It's a boat, so there are bunk beds and shared toilets and showers, there's a sink in the room. Although it was snowing when we were there, it was not cold in the room. The boat is moored in the inner marina, so no waves or rocking of the... More

If you want a budget stay in AMS, this a good place. Booked last minute so not that bad. I stayed in the first floor which is the best, downstairs is very small and small tiny window. So if you can ask for 1st floor would be good. (+) good location, good breakfast, clean (-) the rooms can be small,... More

The vita nova is in a great location, quiet but close enough to the city centre that it is easily walkable. It is a stone throw from central station for all the trams and metro. It has a museum on it's doorstep - nemo museum and is close to the all the shops for souvenirs, pubs, snack bars and shops... More

Quite a nice boat and very nice owners. They serve a good breakfast in the morning but starts at 8 am. I would have preferred to eat earlier and get on with the exploration of Amsterdam. The boat is basic and the rooms small. It is however a very good deal for the money. They have 2 shared toilets with... More

I stayed at Vita Nova for two nights at a weekend in april. The manager is nice and takes time to explain the boat. Especially he mentioned not to throw sanitary things into the toilet. The rooms are very small, but thats what you have to expect in a hostel boat. The breakfast was rich and fresh, with much of... More

Full disclosure: I've never stayed on a boat before. I'm glad I did. My boyfriend and I spent a week in Amsterdam with the coolest Dutch grandma in Monica. Seriously, she's great. Finding the boat was the hardest for us because Google Maps was an absolute doofus when it came to transit directions from Amsterdam Centraal station. Instead, just turn... More

Location fantastic, beds comfy, boat spotlessly clean, staff a pleasure to have met, no complaints at all. It is a boat, with beds and a social/canteen area. Lovely views from the top deck. Would deff stay here again. Fantastic prices.

The "botel" has a great location, just a few short minutes from central station, which is great to those traveling without a shared/private transfer from the airport. To have stayed in Vita Nova was a great experience and I strongly recommend it to anyone staying in Amsterdam! If you have the change book a botel, for it will enhance the... More

I never reveiewed this but I stayed September 2013. Don't book this and expect to get an amazing room with your own bathroom. It's a boat. Plain and simple. It's quaint. Not sure if I'd ever stay on a boat again..... but it really was an experience! Not necessarily a bad one either. I wouldn't recommend this for a stay... More

Vita Nova is in a fantastic location, about a 5 min walk from Centraal Station as well only a short walk from main areas such as Dam Square and the Red Light District. The area where the dock is situated itself is excellent, with some really nice small bars and restaurants. Management are very accommodating and pleasant, and the complimentary... More
