Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

We had a very enjoyable stay while we were in Amsterdam at Chariot Amsterdam on Singel (street and canal) First of all the location was near most of the really exciting sites, walking distance for us. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathrooms and showers all up to date. With the kitchen and dining area we had all out breakfasts and 3 dinners in. There was a superb, supper food store about 5 blocks away with one of the best selections of prepared foods. Fresh, chilled and frozen. Large bakery, good selection of meats, cheeses, fish, wine, everything. After a full day of sightseeing, putting our feet up and relaxing was our kind of fun. The view out the front window, the boats on the canal, the bikes, pedestrians, cars and motor scooters, was overwhelming for North Americans so used to a different life style. Something to write home about.

Within an easy walk from the train station and located on a canal, the apartment was just right for our stay in Amsterdam. The high ceilings and light coming in from the tall windows were just lovely. The view out the dining room window of the canal was lovely and it was fascinating to watch the boats and bicycles as they proceeded along. We were four friends travelling together and were able to each have our own room. There were three showers in the unit too. Be aware that although there is a bedroom with bathroom located a few steps up on the main floor with a window onto the light well, the other bedrooms are downstairs and have no windows although they are very comfortable and quiet. Good beds. The kitchen was well equipped so we could relax and make dinner after a long day of sightseeing. We easily walked to the museums and other attractions. A very nice grocery store was located nearby. When a fuse blew in the apartment the landlord was extremely responsive and dealt with it right away.

Leon was absolutely fantastic from start to finish, his communication was the best we've experienced after years of booking apartments/houses in Amsterdam. The location couldn't be better and really quiet at night and great places to eat and drink on the door step. so good looking to already book for next year!

The apartment is in such a great location, close to some lovely restaurants, amenities and a short walk to the central train and bus station. We were travelling with friends and small children, so the location worked really well. The apartment itself had plenty of room - lots of beds, showers so never falling over each others toes.Lovely open plan kitchen-diner to relax in. Leon arranged the stay without any fuss - including arranging a taxi to pick us up from the airport, and Jacqueline met us on arrival and suggested some nice local places to eat, how to get around etc. so really nice touches. There were also games for the kids, Netflix available, coffee machine in the kitchen along with oven, microwave, dishwasher etc. all of which we used. Only minor issues - one dripping shower, and the en-suite shower is very small. Very steep stairs for kids (but then most accommodation in this style has the same), and the bedroom layout is a little odd downstairs - 1, 2 and 3 bed rooms so you need to think about how this would work for you. All said, great hosts, great location.
