We were a family of six and our rooms were on the upper floors. The people at the reception/breakfast were very accommodating all throughout the stay. As we were six, we had big suitcases and they were nice enough to keep our suitcases at the lobby so we don't have to carry them to the room. The room is small which was expected in Amsterdam but the location makes up for it. The tram stop is across the lobby, had nice cafes and grocery nearby, neighborhood is friendly and safe and the breakfast selection was spectacular too.

So want are the important things when you stay 8n a hotel, the alp hotel ticked all the boxes comfortable beds great continental breakfast perfect location the tram S and the 2 going to central station no 13 no 17 stops outside..Safety deposit box night porter a safe area ,local Albert hein shop across the roads storage for bags after checkout. Uptodate information sent to you prior to arrival. Fantastic location to walk into town, the foodhallen ,Ann franks ,the famous winkel applepie shop all very close indeed. You could even book tours through them if you do wished. We had the Christopher Columbus suite right at the top of the building it was a typical sized room for Amsterdam and up in the eves and yes 47 steps up to the room which after 4 days you became use to . Love,y spa bath and balcony over looking a quite residential area . All The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite we liked the complimentary welcome drink on arrival and departure also fact you had a fridge and fresh water and fruit was put in the room with a little chocolate each day . We would recommend this small hotel and would return ourselves.

We planned our trip 6 months in advance, but with the Covid 19 travel ban in March of 2020, this place was not accommodating or empathetic to the fact that we could no longer make our trip due to government laws on travel. I fully understand their "nonrefundable" policy, but due to the "pandemic" and other hotels, airlines, and even airbnb allowing some kind of refund, credit or even future date change, this place allowed no such thing. I emailed them about canceling twice and someone named Bret said I had to cancel the room on my own even though their cancelation policy states that with an email confirmation of cancellation 5 days prior to the intended arrival date we would be able to cancel. We were canceling 12 days in advance. I had to send a whole new email restating my request to cancel my booking. I will NEVER book with them in the future.

Stayed in this hotel for one night on the 20/02/2020. The staff were so friendly especially Tahir who instantly made us feel so welcome. We arrived after a rainy evening and were greeted with complimentary warm drinks and an even warmer welcome. Tahir told us all the hot spots around and when we said we were going to a concert that night he offered us their taxi service which was much cheaper than getting an Uber. When we went downstairs to get the taxi, Tahir told us their driver wasn’t available but that he would drop us himself!! He also collected us after the concert even tho his shift had finished. The room itself was spotless and comfortable. The balcony was a nice touch. The breakfast was simple and delicious. I’ll definitely stay here again and will recommend it to anyone coming to Amsterdam. Thanks so much for everything especially Tahir for being so accommodating!!

stayed just the one night but we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel.beautifully clean, good sized room , not huge but it dosnt need to be but fully functional, great to have fridge and the lovely whirlpool bath!the staff couldnt have been more helpful, good local knowledge of the local eateries too.yummy breakfast and free ,plentiful coffee which was a bonus! If you have mobility issues the the alp is not for you because its in an old dutch house and steps and winding, narrow stairtreads are the order of the day.But we will most certainly be back, loved it !Keep up the good work .
