I was at this hotel for a short trip to Amsterdam, and I am very satisfied of my choice. I arrived by car, but then I didn't use it for the duration of my stay, this hotel is very well connected to the city. There is a tram station and a subway station within 5-10 min walk. The hotel respects all quality standards from Novotel, and is well prepared to comply with all special measures during the Covid crisis. It was however sad to have "breakfast platters" instead of the traditional and rich buffet from Novotel. Staff was highly friendly and helpful. Our room (booked for 3 persons) was comfortable & clean, although I never understood why there was no desk. Good multimedia offering, spacy bathroom, etc. A great choice for AMS !
I visited the Novotel hotel on 4th August 2020 with my sister and daughter and stayed for 3 nights. Giving concerns about COVID, I was pleased to note the high level of cleanliness in the hotel, screens to shield set up in reception, and hand sanitizers dotted everywhere as well as markers on the ground for social distancing. The reception staff were great; special mention to Hester who all through our stay was helpful, informative, and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. We stayed in the renovated Queen room and as is typical for Novotel standards, the beds were comfy, the bathroom spacious and I particularly enjoyed the rainfall shower need after each day spent exploring Amsterdam. In terms of transport links, you can take a Metro from Schipol airport straight to Amsterdam RAI station which is a 5mins walk to the hotel. You also have a tram stop close by so 2 options to get into central Amsterdam which a maximum journey time of say 15mins. If you need to buy essentials there is a Dirk supermarket about 12mins walk from the hotel. We preferred not to stay in the bustle of central Amsterdam and the Novotel was a perfect affordable choice. We didn't eat in the hotel as we were out a lot but their menu looked good. All in all, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.…
- cheat on room service charge, Adding item we never ordered/received. when pointed out via email/message (hotel preferred comm. channel in corona), there’s no reply/feedback. Until i had to complained again, directly to receptionist. - breakfast was pitiful. A tray of 3 stale bread, 2 fruits, 1 boiled egg, 2 slices of hams and cheese in cheap plastic wrap, a watered down small glass of juice... every morning they tried to sell a 5 eur fried egg.... what a cheap act! - Employees were impolite, some looks demotivated and bored working there. Bartender refused to served welcome drink just because we entered from “wrong side” of the bar... never been turned down in any hotel, novotel is the new low and i’ll make sure to never stay there anymore!
I had my concerns to travel again, but wow Novotel exceeded my expectations! Only in the train I had to wear a facemask but in the hotel everything was fine. Rooms look brand new and staff was very friendly. I felt totally safe during my stay, during check-in the staff asked some safety questions and everywhere I had the chance to disinfect my hands and everywhere there were signs on the ground to make sure there is enough space between people. The only recommendation I would give to the hotel is to provide more amenities in the hotel room. Would definitely come back to the hotel if I need to be in Amsterdam.
I stayed for 5 nights in june 2020 during the covid 19 restrictions and distancing. Hotel staffers extremely welcoming and friendly. Went out of their way to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible. Extremely clean and smart hotel and staff that compliment the hotel. Will definitely stay there again
