We are a "mature" couple who have travelled quite a bit, and this B&B, its location across from OosterPark, and the warm welcome we received from Martijne and Bernard were without parallel among many wonderful B&B stays. What might have been an overwhelming city became one of our favorites. We brought friends who had never stayed anywhere but hotels, and... More

This B&B is located very close to the Royal Tropical Institue, where I was taking a short course. Found great reviews from Tripadvisor.com and decided to try out this B&B. The hosts, Martijne and Bernard, are very nice and friendly. I stayed at the Goede Room (Good Room) for a total of four nights. The room is kept immaculately clean... More

I spent a long time researching places to stay, and finally settled on Parkzijde based on the great reviews written here. I really must say, that it was beyond what I expected in every way. We spent a month traveling around Europe, staying at many B&Bs, but this was by far our favorite. We stayed in the Garden Room and... More

Greeted with a very friendly welcome from my hosts when first arriving, they were more than happy to point out local places to eat, and tours. They even did some research on an obscure question I had about the wind farms in the Netherlands - above and beyond the service I had received elsewhere. The room was very spacious and... More

More and more I tend to stay in smaller B&B’s rather than large corporate hotels and the Parkzijde reinforces my belief that this is the only way forward. We arrived a little later than anticipated but were met by the very friendly Martijne, who showed us to our room, The Garden Room and explained the room, it’s facilities, asked what... More

What a lovely stay I had at Parkzijde in Amsterdam! The B&B owners welcomed me with warm hospitality on my first night and made sure I was completely comfortable and happy with my accommodations. I got to try out two rooms, since neither was available for my entire stay. Both were beautifully decorated and inviting. The nicest part of staying... More

This beautiful B&B is situated right opposite Amsterdam’s Oosterpark, a short walk to the Tropen Museum and Artis (zoo), and a short bike ride from the centre of town. Hosts, Martijne and Bernard, are very friendly and helpful, they suggested a few new places/attractions to visit which I’d never off (having myself previously lived in Amsterdam for a few years),... What a wonderful place to come back to after exhausting days spent in the amazing city of Amsterdam. This warm, lovely couple welcomed us upon arrival with open arms, and even let us switch room as we fell in love with their "Garden Room" immediately after seeing it. Unfortunately we weren't able to get to know them very well, as... More

Two friends and I stayed at this lovely Bed and Breakfast for two nights at the end of July. The home is located in a former gentleman's townhouse directly across the street from Oosterpark. The home is an easy tram trip from the center of Amsterdam and is in a quiet suburb away from the noise of the center. The... More

We stayed at the Parkzijde for 5 nights in March 2008 and had a wonderful stay. Our hosts (Martijne and Bernard) were very welcoming and helpful throughout the stay. The accommodation was beautifully decorated - we chose the large Garden Room which included an lovely en-suite bathroom, with bath and shower and a small conservatory overlooking the rear garden where... You find Parkzijde in front of the beautiful Oosterpark, just outside the busy city-center. The elegant house (1892) still remains conserved in its original style. The “Goede Kamer” (“good room”), where former residents used to welcome their guests, has a high decorated ceiling and marble chimney. The room at ground floor has a view of the park. The Garden room is located at the rear of the house and has access to its own conservatory, overlooking our garden. ... more   less
