You find Parkzijde in front of the beautiful Oosterpark, just outside the busy city-center. The elegant house (1892) still remains conserved in its original style. The Park room, where former residents used to welcome their guests, has a high decorated ceiling and marble chimney. This room at ground floor has a view of the park. The Garden room is located at the rear of the house and has access to its own conservatory, overlooking our garden. The old atmosphere of both rooms is combined with every modern luxury like air conditioning, very fast wifi, laptop, microwave, backoven, cooler etc. Each room has a private ‘en suite’ bathroom. Breakfast, service and all taxes are included in the price (all-in).

We really enjoyed our stay here over the New Year period. Martijne and Bernard were friendly and very helpful, always on hand to provide information and advice. Our room overlooked the park and was great to come back to after a day walking around the city. We liked the location as it was quiet and not too far to get into the city by tram (15 mins) or walking (30 mins). We loved the breakfast left in the fridge the night before so that we could eat when it suited us, very relaxing. There was so much breakfast that we were able to make sandwiches to take with us for lunch (bags provided!) There was also a good range of drinks and snacks provided free of charge. Room was lovely and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Nice restaurants and bars within a few minutes’ walk. A lovely place to stay.

Thank you very much for writing this nice and informing review! You also mention aspects that are not commented often in reviews: we give our guests the possibility to choose between being served in the room at a certain time or having placed everything in the fridge the night before. That was an advise of earlier guests and I read in your review that this works well. And indeed,.we offer to take leftovers for lunch, so as not to have to throw it away. Thank you for writing about that.

Lovely setting opposite Oosterpark, about 30 minute walk to the centre. Trams nearby but didn’t use as the weather was okay. We stayed in the front room , which was spacious and well equipped, just like in the photos . Hosts were friendly and helpful and any questions or requests were dealt with straight away. I would definitely recommend Parkzijde.

As I often have sleeping problems, I was looking for a quiet place to stay that is at the same time well connected to train/metro stations, the RAI and the city centre. Parksijde B&B ticked all those boxes. Lovely park just opposite, tram in front, metro half a mile away. Plus very helpful and attentive owners. Not to mention the best pannenkoeken EVER for breakfast! Price is good value by Amsterdam standards.

We really liked staying here. We were there for three nights for my birthday. It's spacious and clean and EEEZEEE - really - to get to the city centre, if you want to. We liked being away from the centre which now, sadly, is a victim to over-tourism. Amsterdam is a top-notch city to visit. We stuck to the local area and did some grocery shopping and other shopping, too. We walked through the adjacent park a few times - it's beautiful - to get to tram stations and shops. Must be a haven in the warmer months for city dwellers. People were jogging, walking their dogs, cycling, walking - like we were. Our host advised us not to walk through it at night as it's very dark so we didn't. The tram service to the centre is very convenient and stops are a short walk away. Getting to and from the airport was simple with tram, underground and train. We went into the city twice - specifically for an exhibition at the Hermitage Museum and a show at the Concertgebouw - both extremely enjoyable. Pleasant hosts who are unobtrusive. Breakfast is served in your room or products left for you to organise it yourself - very useful and we helped ourselves. As said before very spacious and great big bathroom. We stayed in the Garden Room which has a small built on section - almost like a small orangerie - which let's in a lot of light. That's where we ate our breakfast looking out onto the garden and watching the neighbours' black and white kitty running over the transparent roof - attempting to get to the pesky magpies who were teasing him. We ate in restaurants locally and also shopped at Ekoplaza - good organic products. Our hosts have provided a file containing comprehensive info re eating, shopping in the area and also re transport and Amsterdam in general. So nice to find hospitality of this sort in a modern, international city of renown. As an ex-South African it's wonderful to experience the friendliness and "gezelligheid" of our hosts and the Dutch in general. We shall be back - all things being equal.

I am especially pleased that you used the word 'gezelligheid', which is as you know very important in Holland and it's what we aim to offer also to our guests. Of course you are very welcome back again!

Parkzijde B&B was the absolute best accommodations we stayed in during our 2 months in Europe. Beautiful rooms, easy walking distance to the city center & not in all the tourist hub bub. Wonderful hosts & very accommodating. Last but not least superb breakfast.
