Corps de Garde is an excellent choice to stay in the University Town of Groningen. I stayed there last weekend for a university reunion and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Although the room and bathroom were rather small, they were cosy and clean. The small restaurant has the appearance of an eating cafe, which ads to the pleasant atmosphere. The room...

My husband booked this hotel as part of a birthday present for me that included concert tickets, I wasn't disappointed. The hotel is modern and quirky in its interior design, very clean and the staff were very friendly. A lovely bonus is guests are welcome to play records from the large and varied collection in the bar/restaurant area. Central location...

I book this hotel for 1 night only as I pass through Groningen on business. The building is old and a little quirky and interesting. I had a room in the top of the building which had exposed joists of the the old structure which I found novel. The bells of the nearby church were pleasant to hear as they...

The monumental building of this hotel dates from the early seventeenth century, and today it still has many of the ancient timbers and beams, nook and crannies and curved and complicated stairways. But there's a quick elevator, too, so you can forgo the sensation of climbing back into an earlier age! Reception is in the spacious Brasserie. You get a...

Hotel Corps de Garde is a terrific hotel in Groningen located in the city centre area right along the canal. The hotel is a converted historic building with an original classic exterior and a modern, updated interior. We had to follow a bit of a maze of hallways and stairways to reach our room. We were in room 15, which...

Stayed for 3 nights recently, I had my elderly Mother in one room and myself and my wife in another. Rooms were spotless , beds were superb but best of all was the welcome and friendliness of all of the staff we encountered over the 3 days bar none. Nothing was a problem and I would highly recommend this hotel...

I stayed in a room at the back of the hotel so hoped it would be quiet, but it wasn't. The room had huge single glazed windows, and there were students revelling in the street late at night, only to be woken up by refuse collectors in the early morning. The single glazing on a West aspect also meant the...

Rooms are large and very comfortable. The coffee is excellent. There downstairs reading/breakfast room looks and feels very homey....
