I stayed up at the Eems hotel for a couple of nights this Summer. I was not looking much; I was down in the Netherlands for a friend's wedding and all I really wanted was some simple accommodation. The Eems hotel did not disappoint, in fact it exceeded my expectations: I managed to get a late check-in (11 PM/Midnight) after...

We were going to stay in Groningen but we did not find anything with character in a cursory search. I was hoping for something with flair. We got one of the last 2 rooms at 5pm and headed to the coast. When we arrived the tide was out and it looked a little dilapidated. Boy were we surprised to find...

Sleeping over the water of the Eems seemed to me a very relaxing way to stay especially when on a business trip. The Eemshotel did not disappoint. The room with twin beds was airy and fresh and clean, with one of the walls overlooking the water consisting completely of windows and one sliding door to the wooden deck hanging over...

Regular visited this hotel. Location is stunning! Rooms small but cosy. Bar and restaurant serve great drinks and food. Breakfast okay. Worth a visit! Friendly staff and lot's of free parking space! Experience sunset over the 'wadden" special with low tide.

Stayed here for 2 nights last week. Whilst the hotel is a little dated in places, we felt that it was such an unusual place to stay that this, along with the view, more than made up for it. Our room was clean and tidy with a great view over the sea. All staff that we had dealings with were...

Stayed there for one night. It's a simple hotel, not to expensive, very nice location and a good restaurant. The hotelroom was nice with a good bed. A really negative one is the bathroom with fungus. I stayed out of it because of that. It's something they really have to correct. I hope this was only in my room.

Hotel very run down, but the view! The view makes up for the messy room, the dirty carpets and the desperate need to modernise. Although very old fashioned restaurant the food was good. Have I already said the view was amazing?

At the far Northern end of Holland you will find this hotel, built on poles in the Waddensea, which is a Unesco World Heritage site. From the outside the hotel looks like a container building, I forgot to ask what it was in former life. Inside you will find a cosy, warm atmosphere, the personnel is very welcoming and friendly....

We spent 3 days in familly in rooms just over the sea. Right price with breakfast included. Good cooking is served at dinner. Very calm and clean. Helpfull service, yet not very cheerful. Rooms are a little bit old style.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights whilst on business in the area. I chose the hotel because of the location on the waterfront and the proximity to the train station (less than 10 mins' walk with luggage in the dark). The hotel is built on stilts over the water and has the potential to be a very lovely...
