This hotel is great!
• Great location right by train and bus station, but hotel is quiet and clean so does not seem like it is near a train station
• Very helpful and friendly hotel staff. Martijn in particular made our stay so much better. He gave great recommendations on where to go, helped us find the best bus route, and then when the Netherlands train and bus computer system crashed on the day we were supposed to leave, we could walk back to the hotel and Martijn helped find a unique car sharing app with someone going the direction we were going. Then he helped translate the app so we could reach out to the person
• Rooms are very clean and nice (so is lobby)
• Has a decent gym ( a rarity for Dutch hotels)
Overall - highly recommend the hotel, especially for the price (perhaps we got a good price as we booked very last minute)

Hotel looked lovely with great decor and had an award winning "ultimate toilet experience"! Room and bathroom were of adequate size and our room faced the main road but hardly any noise could be heard. The staff that greeted us were friendly and polite but unfortunately the staff in the roof top bar, one man in particular, was quite hostile from the moment we met. I got the impression he wasn't keen on the English and he made our visit unpleasant. Be aware that reservations are necessary, even if the bar is empty at that time and you only wanted to stay for one! (No one else came in while we were there and we stayed for two drinks, being joined by a few friends, so clearly not busy!). We were told that drinks could not be put on the room but had to be paid for on one bill and not individually . Well, this is what he told us, to be awkward I can only assume, as we since found out that drinks could be charged to the room. We did have a great stay with friends and got the know the town with the many historical things to do in the area.

We stayed two nights in a design suite of this hotel. It was design but the name suite was a bit too large for this, furthermore, well equipped room. A bath tube in the midst of the room, a rain shower and a separate toilet, not having a place to put your things on (book, glasses, a drink). A nice king bed and a good breakfast. Why do we choose for average and not very good? The room was rather noisy because of the air-system. There was no lazy chair, and we were missing a second sink. Had to wash your hands with shampoo. Toilet paper very very thin. We had to clean the sink from hair of the visitors before us. The safe was situated on the bottom of the wardrobe so you had to kneel on the floor to put your things away. Although the room was new some items were already broken. Their was only one elevator. On the other hand a very kind staff, a nice lounge and a very good starting point to visit the city of Arnhem.

Where to start. Pretentious and self indulgent. Having a slightly quirky hotel does not make up for indifferent service, poor housekeeping, and frankly laughable food quality, which looked marvellous but had no flavour and all at eye-watering cost. The basics like emptying the bin in the bathroom after the previous guest should be a given, and should you move the adjustable bracket on the tv for better viewing, you will discover the thick layer of dust lurking behind. We will not be hurrying back to this overpriced underwhelming establishment. They say 'Poor managers employ poor staff' and never was it truer.

The pro’s
Location was great and check in was perfect and then….
If you are going to say that you are a five star hotel then offer everything a five star hotel does
The Room
Bed comfortable
Shower pressure dreadful, the shower was not standalone but one above a bath of poor quality and a shower screen that would not stay open
Virtually no plugs to use in room as all were used by the numerous lights coffee machine kettle and hotel iPad and no usb sockets…. This was a pain and when you have to go in the floor to unplug a lamp to plug your phone in to charge it then becomes evident how much dust there was.
The quality of towels in bathroom was very poor cheap thin and not great quality
Breakfast was average, poor selection of items and hot items were placed in bowls under heat lamps… nobody has a good story about food kept under heat lamps nobody, simple things as well nowhere to toast bread.
The checkout granted the young lady who assisted me seemed to want to help me but then we get the on duty manager who seemed to think arrogance and dismissing a customer’s comment is the way to go… it isn’t and it’s not a great look.
Check out is at 11 when most hotels is 12 this is purely done to charge 25€ to use room from 11-2 just a pure and simple cash grab as highlighted in the stream of emails and text messages prior to staying basically trying to sell more products.
I’m going to make a bold statement and say the ibis opposite would of probably been a better option than this hotel and as I mentioned in title at best the way the hotel is currently run 3 star at best.
In all my reviews if something is good I will say so but when I am charged nearly 700 euros and it’s not good expect me to say so.
In closing there are probably better places to stay in Arnhem than here.

Rooms a little old but main issue is the detergent or cleaning that have a very strong smell. Needed to have window open 2h before I could be in room. In addition ventilation in room was not working so very humid air in room in the morning. Breakfast ok.

Its a nice hotel. Cool design, nice bed and so on.
However, there are a few issues. The room isolation is sub standard, in the first floor room, you can hear all the traffic outside, including everything people are saying on the streets... The toilets are not soft close (really so 1990''s...).
The breakfast is nice, but there was a very loud group, obnoxiously loud, and the management did nothing to ask them to reduce the noise.

My work brought me to Arnhem and I selected This Best Western for its location. I was not expecting much bit It turned out to be a really nice gem of a hotel. I stayed in a contemporary furnished room with a huge bed and a free standing tub. I loved it! The hotel has a funky rooftop bar with great views and a nice menu. It even boasts an inhouse ice cream parlour! All this comes with a great location and friendly staff. I definitely reccommend this place

We decided to spend the Saturday night in Arnhem, and therefore to stay in this hotel; the hotel is located near the main station, 10mns walking to the center..however, teaching the hotel is not easy, Arnhem is not a car friendly city and you will have to do a lot of detour before reaching the hotel. The hotel has a aprking, but places are small and limited.
The staff is very accommodating and friendly, the room was cleaned and spacious enough (we got the one with a kitchen..), our dog was welcome (for an extra fees of 45€, and breakfast was good. We slept well, no noise, and aircon is working well.
One minor thing, the bar of the hotel was opened but not appealing..there is another bar on the roof, but places are limited and you need to reserve in advance.

Last week we had been staying at the Hotel Haarhuis for the tenth time – whenever we attend the 4Daagse this is our choice. It is close to the train station and we can get out breakfast at 2:15am (!). The hotel is quiet and clean, and our room was great. Over the last years the hotel was extensively refurbished, but we were happy to see many of the friendly hotel staff again – Helen and Jan, to name a few. When we came back from our exhausting walks we were welcomed by Bart with refreshments. We are looking forward to our next stay in 2023!

Across the road under the station is near and easy

You can find the John Frost Bridge and the information centre 'Slag om Arnhem' within walking distance of our hotel. The Arnhem War museum is too far to walk, but across our hotel you can take the bus or a taxi. Our reception can help you with the bus number or call a taxi for you.
