It's beautiful when you arrives and sees the old fashioned hotel. As other friends already said a few years ago that the hotel needs to be refurbished, we can agree with that. It's nice but old. Also the swimmingpool. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner. Because I had my 60st Birthday, my wife had told the personel, nothing extra's was... More

Nice hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms that need to be refurbished (yellow walls, pink doors, orange curtains). The restaurant lives up to expectations: Very tasteful dishes and excellent service. Beautiful area for walking and cycling.

This is a small hotel, the main building dating from the 17th century, set in lovely surroundings some 10 minutes from Leeuwarden. It is thus very quiet and there are opportunities for walking or bicycle rides around the locale - bikes can be hired from the hotel. Dinner was good and beds comfortable. Those are the positive things about this... More

The hotel brochure says "Wakker worden in een wereld die verdwenen leek" (waking up in a world that seemed disappeared). For once this is totally true. I had a magnificent stay here and will repeat. I had booked at a Dutch website for weekends away for a normal room price but got an upgrade to the Margaretha Suite, which I... More

We arrived on Friday September 26th and left on Monday September 29th 2014. We made use of the Bride suite and the island arrangement. This included two three course dinners and one four course dinner at the hotel. The Bride suite is spacious and includes a Jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Also two large sinks with a mirror cabinet above... More

The hotel is charming and privately located. If you are so inclined you can take a lovely little walk around the grounds. The restaurant was truly excellent. I have (difficult) dietary needs and - with prior warning - the staff managed splendidly. I had a dinner that was easily as good as that of my companions. The room was great... More

The hotel is situated in large landscaped grounds within a very prosperous looking village/town. The location is very convenient for the various ferries serving the Frisian islands. The room was comfortable and very peaceful – the only noise intruding was an owl hooting from a nearby tree. In general the room was clean although some of the paintwork was looking... More

We stayed 2 nights in this excellent estate (landgoed). The hotel is indeed excellent and the restaurant perfect. The staff is extremely friendly and all our requests were fulfilled with a big smile. The park surrounding the estate is beautiful and invited us for a nice walk. The capital of the province Fryslân, Leeuwarden, is about 15 min. drive by... More

We stayed here only one night, while visiting Friesland. A very nice, elegant place, with a small indoor swimmingpool our sons enjoyed. They have a spa and a beautician, but since she is not in-house, you have to make reservations, which I had not. The weather wasn't too good, so we couldn't enjoy the beautifull surroundings, but we did enjoy... More

We stayed for four days at the Landgoed De Klinze, a state from 1655. The hotel is surrounded by a large 8 ha park and there is a nice driveway leading upto the mansion. We had a spacious room - the Statekamer Hector - because it has airconditioning (it was around 30 degrees Celsius). Not all rooms have this facility.... More
