Its central position is its only advantage. The price is definetly too high compared to its value. Moreover, the room was really cold and, when we complained asking to change the room, the answer was: "you probably come from a warm country". Is this the way to deal with a client?!

just a few words: AVOID this hostel when you have enough money. In my case I have been joining a wonderfull concert night with Ana Popovic close by and for one night this cheapest hostel close by was the alternative to sleep under a bridge. International tourists: AVOID THE NETHERLANDS!!! Too high prices for food and hotels and bad service.

Very rude service and our room wasn't very clean. One of our group members had allergic reaction because of the air in the room. When we told the problem to the staff they didn't want to solve it and they didn't agree to change the room.

Anker is well located in the centre of Leeuwarden, and it's easily in walking distance from the town's (few) attractions, like Oldehove. Quiet and peaceful, and the staff was absolutely amazing! Everybody was nice and helpful, and spoke very good English. Coffee from the bar was great, beds were comfy. Rooms - and the building itself - are clearly old,...

I stayed here for 1 night business related. The reception was mediocre. I had to pay in advance and to have dinner I was redirected to another restaurant down the street. The rooms where very basic and you heard everything from the adjoining rooms (like snoring). Breakfast wasn't more than some bread, an egg and some simple breadtoppings.

Small hotel in one of the most beautiful streets of Leeuwarden. Rooms are small and basic, but equipped with a pretty comfortable bed. Downstairs is a bar where you can enjoy a drink before going to bed. The staff is very friendly and creates a welcoming atmosphere!

We spent 2 weeks at 't Anker and we were sad to leave. The hotel is simple but clean and functional, it has a cosy bar/ cafe downstairs and the rooms are located in several adjacent townhouses. Part of the hotel has been recently renovated, and as far as we understood the rest will be refurbished as well. We had...

Me and other 3 friends tayed for short time, 2 nights 3 days. We experienced nice stay there. This is a cafe an hotel place where you can enjoy a quite and typical another Dutch atmosphere. The local poeple are nice, they called Frisian. Not many things to see here, but views of canals are great.

I stayed here during a business trip in a single bedroom ensuite. The room wasn't very big, but sufficient enough when working during the day. The breakfast was plentiful and the staff very friendly. The only problem was the wifi which didn't seem to work very well on my room, but I decided to use it at the adjacent pub...

I had to stay here for about two or three weeks. The hotel room is not really special, but has a bed and toilet. Overall, i can say that staff is really friendly and capucinno is good. Moreover the hotel is close to center, right next to the coffeeshop and not so far from Stenden University.

“Beware that the management will require full payment for the stay on arrival. I was surprised by this but it's hard to say no to it. La Patronnesse was less than friendly (rude actually) when asked to explain this pay up-front policy. Perhaps they have had people skip off - for one reason or another?”
