Situated in Zurich’s vibrant District 4 is the Design & Boutique Hotel Greulich with 28 rooms and the restaurant Blau. At Greulich meets a homely atmosphere purist design, and vibrant city life meets pure relaxation in the tranquil birch grove. The rooms are spread over the main house and the courtyard next to the birch grove.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
This was our third visit to the hotel. We love the well designed and comfortable rooms with a unique glass enclosed bathroom. The rooms are located within a beautiful courtyard, with artistic stately trees that lend a sense of calmness in a city atmosphere. We were pleased to see on this visit that all the great amenities were still available including a delicious reinvented menu in the restaurant. We had the beef marrow which was a unique visual and delicious experience. In addition to all of these things, the Greulich Hotel’s location close to the main tram line makes it a convenient spot to use as a base for experiencing Zurich. I stayed here on a business trip to Zurich. Efficient & friendly service and a glass of prosecco at check-in. Design is a cool white / grey style that I would describe as Scandinavian though no wooden elements. Rooms are located behind the restaurant in a roofed hall with accommodations being on both sides (see photos). Upon arrival my room was already heated which in fall/winter is very important. Good breakfast (served in a crate due to Corona). Loved the yoga/exercise mat, though I did not use it … lot of attention to small details. All in all a very good stay and very recommendable.

I stayed for around 3 months as in international visitor during COVID lockdown in 2020 in one of the large rooms.
The staff were all lovely, and the room was fantastic with a big, comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom with large bathtub, and separate living area with a large desk which enabled me to easily work / study while there.
The location is great, close to the lively Langstrasse but far enough away to be very quiet! Very good for business travellers - just note that there are no kitchen facilities / fridge in the room (this is made clear in the room descriptions)!
Overall this was a memorable and peaceful stay at a tumultuous time, I hope I can stay in the future!

My stay at Greulich Hotel exceeded my expectations to the max. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. Loved the atmosphere, the restaurant Blau and the generous size of the room. Will always come back when in Zurich and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be in walking distance to all the hotspots the city has to offer - at an amazing price point! This hotel was just redone and changed his management. It is for the best! The rooms are modern, stylish, clean and have all the necessary amenities, even products from L'Occitane that you usually find only in 5* hotels. The staff is super friendly, flexible and the reception is open 24 hours. They have also a restaurant and bar serving the best food. The location is great and the parking very useful, as it is particularly hard to find any parking spot in Zurich. It is my 4th stay here and I could only recommend this hotel and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in Zurich!

What a great hotel! We were so happy with everything about it. It was close to the train station in Zurich with easy access to bus and tram routes. We were so impressed with the employees, everyone was very kind and helpful. The room was large and spotless. We especially loved all the amenities , the top quality soap and lotions, water , robes, slippers, sleep masks. We felt very pampered. We paid for the breakfast and were not disappointed. They had a vegetarian option which one had and the other had the meat option. It was presented in a elegant way with great service. We were only sorry that we had not booked for more days. We definitely will be back.

With the tram tickets you can buy at the reception you can use every public transport in the City - this makes it much easier. Love this place. Was in Zurich on Business Stayed in Room 8 with the double level. Brilliant room, spacious and airy and love the design and concept. The hotel reception and restaurant are cool, the room a bit minimalistic, not so charming but functional. We had the brunch at the restaurant and were very disappointed! We took the étagère at CHF 34 per person ( you have to be 2 person to take it in total CHF 68.- ). Nothing really cooked or special. The quantity was not enough, they used the space on the étagère to put the marmelades and bread instead of putting that aside and offer more fruits or something additional. Very disappointed for the price! The service was a bit slow, we waited nearly an hour to receive the étagère. Too expensive for what it is.

We stayed 2 nights for a concert in the nearby Letzigrund Stadion, the position was perfect, near a tram station , but you could reach the center and the populated Langstrasse with a 10 minute walk. Very friendly and caring staff since from before the arrival. Full courtesy kit in the room, they even left an umbrella in advance because it was going to be rainy during our stay! Would really recommend even though we didn't use the restaurant service. Thanks again :)

Booked this hotel and accidentally booked a non-refundable rate. Had to change dates due to a family medical emergency and the hotel would not allow me to change dates or cancel my booking. They had availability for my dates and it was just a matter of 2 days earlier but they wouldn’t allow it. I even went to the hotel in person but they didn’t do anything - not even a future credit. Cost me a significant loss since Switzerland is not cheap. In today’s day and age this inflexibility is quite disappointing. Not impressed and will not be booking this hotel or recommending to others for the future.

1. There is a room for 4 of you. We recommend you the Living Design Loft or the Two-Bedroom-Apartment. We do not have rooms with 4 separate beds.
2. This is also possible. We can book for you two Design Double Rooms next to each other.
3. We are about 8 minutes by public transport away.

Not sure. We were in room 1 which had a tub and a shower. Looking at the small design room on their website, it looks like it just has a shower. Our shower had both rain and hand-held showers so it it likely that will be the case for you. If you want to make extra sure, email the hotel: info@greulich.ch -n I'm sure they will respond quickly.
There are more places to choose from in the Zurich area.
