Hotel is clean and new. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast has a decent variety of bread, cereals, hot food etc. If possible, stay on the side which is not facing the train tracks. Although the windows are very thick, if you are a light sleeper, you will hear the screeching of trains as they approach the station (just outside the window)...

Services; at front desk was welcoming and smooth as last week. There was always staff at front desk welcoming and greeting. Room; was what we expected, two single beds that could be pushed to together. My room was at 3rd floor window was facing towards railroad. In bathroom there is a shower booth. Cleaning is done ok. Stayed 2 nights here on a work trip. Hotel has pretty much all you need for a business stay but beware that the rooms have the funny Swiss sockets, no normal European sockets. Breakfast was plentiful. Staff very warm and friendly. Restaurant serves nice typical Swiss food with some modern dishes as well. Overall a very well run hotel, good...

We stayed here as it was in a convenient location for us between Austria and France. We had no expectations. The room we booked was great for our family of 4 - 4 beds (a rarity in Europe), spacious and a recently updated and well-sized bathroom. The staff had placed child-sized robes, soaps etc in the room prior to our...

The reception staff were friendly, the rooms and bathrooms spacious and scrupulously clean BUT, and there is a big BUT, one side of the hotel backs onto 10 railway tracks. My advice, don't go in summer as there is no air-conditioning, so you either try to sleep with the double glazed windows closed and sweat, so no sleep, or windows...

Perfect spot when you are in hurry. Good access to roads, railroads and banks. Full of business people. Quite. Good prices. Strong morning coffee. No night distraction near by. Christmas fair looks like a poor jokes with LEDs.

This hotel is located a short walk from the downtown shopping and transit centre. The neighbourhood is very beautiful and one can take a walk while admiring the old homes nearby, many of which feature gardens. The breakfast service is a bit awkward and one must deal with annoying capsule coffee machines. Maybe I am old fashioned. The front staff...

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights during a business trip. Overall the hotel is reasonably acceptable with its pros and cons. Although this was the second visit to Winterthur and I stayed in another hotel last time; but, if I would travel to this town one more time, I believe this would be the best option in town....

The hotel is very good with promising service . The staff are also good . If you have a reservation please advice them well before to give you the rooms facing the road and not the train station. Though the glasses are sound proof but then too it disturbs your sleep. The room service is good and in the evening...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Winterthur's Friendly Business Hotel Hotel Banana City is a completely independent hotel under private ownership. It's part of SISKA Heuberger Holding AG's multifunctional services complex located in the centre of town, close to Winterthur's central train station. The building complex, more than 200m long, has such an intriguingly arched shape that locals have come to affectionately call it <>, hence the hotel's name. What used to be an industrial site has been successfully converted into one of Winterthur's most beautiful hallmark buildings thanks to its modern glass facade. Successful and Popular The hotel is very much focused on the specific needs of business patrons. With 10 conference halls and meeting rooms, the banqueting hall and 101 guest rooms, it has all it takes for efficient congress organisation in a single place. Hotel Banana City is becoming an increasingly popular venue for congresses and meetings. Each year, the hotel played host to more than 52,000 guests, amongst them many conference and meeting participants or persons attending cultural events or private parties. Hotel Banana City (including all guest rooms and conference facilities) has been consistently built to give full access to persons in wheelchairs. Health and Relaxation On our premises, you will find Winterthur's largest fitness and spa centre (exercise machines, saunas, relaxation pool) ... more   less
