So I was worried about one review which warned of arriving to a closed hotel and means to iron a shirt which had been packed ... And I lived that nightmare too. A sign said go to the other hotel but no directions to it. A surly receptionist (elsewhere) told hung up the intercom but thankfully a guest walking to... More

Very modern and clean hotel with the forest and some nice walks at the back door. The décor and styling is typically modern Swiss with clean and clinical lines. The staff were super friendly and helpful and it was a great business hotel to stay in. Literally a 5 minute walk to the main train station, and a 15 min... More

I stayed here last week. I had emailed the hotel to tell them I would be arriving late. I received a very pleasant response, acknowledging my email and thanking me for informing them. On arrival at 10.30pm the lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming. My room on the ground floor was an upgrade to a huge room -... More

Friendly personnel, clean and modern hotel. aparently there is no reception on sunday morning. Restaurant isn't too bad either, limited menu. pitty that there is no gym in this hotel - you need to walk to the other one which is one block away.

The alternative to Parkhotel. I can't tell the difference. Souless ikea style rooms. Clean, secure, boring and very utilitarian. Good location in Zug 100 years from the Parkhotel. Stay here as an alternative. Prices at both places are insane for what you get (basically good student style accommodation.

I have been here many times and I find it ideal in terms of ammenities for work (wifi, facilities), room style and furnishings and eating on site as well as the excellent bar. The staff is always friendly and the proximity to some shopping and other restaurants is easy. Also just a 2 minute walk to the train station. The... More

Thank you very much for taking your time and to write down your comment! Yes, our gym at the Parkhotel unfortunately is pretty small, however, the machinery exept the rowing machine is not very old. Concerning the size we cannot change it, however, we will ensure that the machinery is always on a good level. We hope to see you... More

I love this hotel! I stay here regularly for business, and the staff remember me, and are always friendly. Great service, nice functional bedrooms, great food and bar, I think this is the best place to stay when in Zug. Along with their sister hotel, the Parkhotel, the rooms are modern, open plan, quite minimalist and plain, but have all... More

I have stayed here very frequently - there aren't so many hotel in Zug - and this and the Park Hotel are owned by the same group. Modern design, good size rooms, comfortable bed, integrated bathroom area, with a good shower. Quirky multi colour mural behind the bed - a bit like the Sergeant Pepper album cover. And they leave... Good for business stay. About a 5 minute (brisk) walk from train station and Metalli mall. Room was a good size, well laid out, very clean, strong and hot shower. The Internet (free) worked very well, including for videos and Netflix. I did not try the food. Checkin/checkout was efficient and friendly. Would stay again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The City Garden Hotel stands out because of its attractive design and the modern materials which are in total harmony with the green surroundings on the edge of the forest. A combination of contrasts that works impressively, both inside and out. The three-dimensional facade covered in chromium steel panels and the rhythmising corridors lend the City Garden Hotel a unique character. Inside, we have concentrated on warm materials such as wood but also on rough elements such as concrete. Colours are used subtly but deliberately. The City Garden Hotel, together with the City Apartments, is an ambitious showcase project and gem that will not just enhance the hotel landscape of Central Switzerland in terms of quantity but also in terms of quality. ... more   less
